Wanna Swap?

I can't believe it took me this long to share with you one of the swaps I made for Convention this year. It's a little hard to tell, but the large oak leaf is sponged with Crumb Cake ink to make it a little more rustic. I had fun making about 100 of these cards, but since I did have to make such a large amount, I did keep them fairly simple. Remember...when you have to make a lot of one, or don't have a lot of time, simple can still be stunning! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Dawn!

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the colors, the weather, the smells, just everything about it! But today I needed a fix of bright colors once again. I had a bunch of Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush flowers already punched and sitting in my little basket on my desk just waiting for the perfect opportunity to adorn a project. I made this birthday card for my SIL. Happy Birthday Dawn!

It's a little hard to tell, but I adhered all the flowers onto a piece of Basic Grey card stock then put it in the Polka Dot Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot so the background is texturized. Happy Stamping!

Champagne Bubbles & Caviar Dreams

Sorry, couldn't help myself making reference in the title to Robin Leach who used to have to the show, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. I made this card a while ago for a dear couple I know celebrating their anniversary. I used the Happy Hour stamp set for the words and glasses. I used the oldie, but goodie set Circle Circus for the bubbles on the strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock. After all, what's champagne without the bubbles right? The small punched heart is from the Owl Builder punch. To create some visual interest, I actually sponged So Saffron ink onto the Whisper White card stock label in a smaller label size. Here's to many more wonderful years together! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Jessi!

My niece recently turned 16. Happy Birthday Jessi! In honor of this milestone event of getting her license, this was the birthday card I made for her. Using the oldie but goodie set, Travel Time for the car; I have her driving to Maryland to come visit us! After all, she can do it now...and I really wish she would! I miss my family! *sniffle sniffle*

To create the background I used Lovely As A Tree along with various ink colors and sponge daubers. I created the Maryland sign by hand. Thought you might like a peak of the inside:

Happy Stamping!

Visions of Butterflies

I had a vision in my head of using darker tones for the large Swallowtail stamp, but still making it feminine and pretty. I stamped the butterfly in Early Espresso ink, then added color to it using Soft Sky and Night of Navy inks with a sponge dauber. How do you soften it up a little and make it pretty? Add sparkle of course! I added a punched strip of our Glimmer Paper and a punched Glimmer Paper butterfly for accents. But the real sparkle -

Yep, I used Dazzling Diamonds and glittered the actual butterfly! In person, this card was screaming sparkle! So when you have a vision, go with it and see where it takes you! Happy Stamping!

Sweet Sandy (Literally!)

I wanted to share with you the fabulous treats I received on Halloween from my dear friend and newest team member, Sandy! Thanks girlie! It really made my day, especially since I was sick all week with a cold. I'm an owl lover and this card was just too cute! It's a little hard to tell, but the tree is actually black glitter. The card stock pockets are holding my sweet treats and they too are sparkly. Who wouldn't love opening their mailbox and finding this inside?! Thanks for brightening my week Sandy! You're the BEST! Happy Stamping!

Feel Better Quickly

A dear friend had an unfortunate accident recently. She is healing now and hopefully this card helped to brighten her recovery a little bit. I used an updated fall color combination of: Midnight Muse, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit, Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple and Baked Brown Sugar. The leaves are sponged with Crumb Cake ink to age them a bit. My favorite part is the knotted bow. I used a strip of our Cotton Ribbon, cut it in half length wise, tied it in a knot then used my Paper Piercer to break apart the strands. Just another creative way to use our ribbon! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Brandon!

I wanted to share with you a very special card that I made for a special little boy. Happy Birthday Brandon!  His party was Bubble Guppies themed so I knew only a fish card would do! And well, here's what I came up with: a 3D under the water scene! Lots of punches went into the making of this card, and lots of sponging (it's hard to tell, but trust me it's there!). I enclosed the three layer fish scene behind a piece of Window sheet to protect it all. Here's a side view to help you better understand (minus the bubbles....I added those after I took this pic) -

Yep, there are three separate layers behind the window sheet. The card can be folded flat and fits in regular envelope and when you pull it out, it pops open to create the 3D effect. His party was fun and I hope he enjoyed his special card and gift it accompanied. Happy Stamping!

Pumpkin Treats

Fun little pumpkin treats for some very special people! The pumpkins are made using the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch which I then texturized using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I cut off the bottom of the scallops to make them sit straight. The leaves are the wing from the Bird Builder Punch and the Trick Or Treat is from the Tags 4 You stamp set found in the holiday catalog along with it's coordinating punch that made punching these out easy peasy. What's treat does the pumpkin contain you wonder? Check it out -

One of my favorites...a Reeses Peanut Butter cup! Here's a side view to show you how my little pumpkins were assembled. Super fun and easy to make! Happy Stamping!

Happy Halloween!

I found it only fitting to share a spooktacular Halloween card with you today. This was actually one of the projects my Club Gals made at their last gathering. The bats are made using the butterfly punch and the 3/4"  inch circle punch. Too fun and super easy to do! The arrows are from the Circle Thinlets set. You get so many neat pieces with that set, it's awesome! Here's a close up of the bats:

Hope today is full of tasty treats! Happy Haunting!

My LOVE of World Card Making Day

In honor of World Card Making Day today, I spent time in my studio this morning right after breakfast (and while Saturday morning cartoons were on for Jack *wink wink*). I thought about what this special day means to me, and the first thought that came to my mind was 'LOVE'. I LOVE to stamp. I LOVE to create. I LOVE how my creations make others feel good. I LOVE how stamping has brought me so many wonderful friends over the years. I LOVE how I feel when I'm creating. So in honor of all this, I made this special card to honor this day and everything I LOVE about it!

I used a mixture of sets to create this special card: Gorgeous Grunge, Wonderfall, and Fabulous Phrases. I used the Typeset Alphabet Die for the letters which are popped up on dimensionals, the Word Window Punch to help with the "you" tag hanging from the letter L, the Small Heart Punch and small pearl inside the letter O (which is also popped up on dimensionals), and of course I had to incorporate Linen two places this time! *wink wink* I really do just LOVE this day! Happy Stamping!

Sweet Donna

Thought I would share some happy mail I received from my sweet friend, Donna. Hi Donna!  Isn't it just beautiful? I LOVE the simplicity of it, but striking quality it has. The flowers are actually cut out and popped up with dimensionals over the swipes of color. Oh, it's so much prettier in real life! Thank you Donna for brightening my day! *hugs* Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Ralph!

You know when an idea pops into your head and you tell yourself, "Try it. It just might work." Well it did! Woo Hoo!

I thought it would be fun to use the deer from the Remembering Christmas stamp set as a silhouette in a forest. I made this card especially for Ralph, "Hunter Extraordinaire." Happy Birthday Ralph! Hope you have good luck this upcoming season!

I stamped the row of trees from Lovely As A Tree in Early Espresso ink on Sahara Sand card stock. I used a Blender Pen and various ink colors to give them a little color. I used sponges and various color inks for the sky and grassy area. After I was pleased with my background, I moved onto the focal point. I stamped the deer using Early Espresso ink. I wanted it to "really pop", so I then took the time to color in the image using my Early Espresso marker as well. I LOVE how it turned out! What an awesome stamp set that was intended for Christmas, but really made to be used anytime of year! LOVE it! I have to say, this has been one of my favorites I've made lately! Ralph, you should feel special! *smiles* Happy Stamping!

Missing SuZan

Thanks for tuning in today to see the special card I made for SuZan. Hi SuZan! I opted to try my hand at a pocket card. Something fun and different! How did I do it? I started off with a 4 1/4 x 11 inch piece of Melon Mambo card stock and folded it in half. I opened it up and then on one 4 1/4" end, I cut off 1" then scored a 1/2" and folded that down. I secured it with Sticky Strip along with both edges of the shorter sides all the way to that first fold. Clear as mud?

Check out what the insert looks like when pulled out and then you might get a better understanding:

Voila!  The pocket is the Melon Mambo piece on the right and the insert is on the left that slides in and out of the pocket. I used the Delicate Doilies, From the Heart and Sassy Salutations sets along with Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede inks and card stocks to make this fun card. Happy Stamping!

Missing Julie

You know when you meet someone and you just know you're going to be friends? That's what happened to me this year at convention. While Donna and I were sitting and waiting for our table at Olive Garden to eat supper after a long day at convention, we started talking to two other SU gals and we ended up sharing a table with them for supper. We talked, laughed, swapped stories, etc. They were so wonderful! This card highlighting the Daydream Medallion set is for Julie. Hi Julie! We've been staying in touch ever since then. Stampin' Up surely has been a blessing in my life! Tune in tomorrow to see what card I made for SuZan, the other awesome friend I made. *big smiles* Happy Stamping!

When I started with this fabulous company over 11 years ago, I didn't know what impact it would have on my life. Looking back now, I don't what I would have done without it! One of the BEST decisions I've ever made! I have made so many wonderful friends over the years and many have gone on to become members of my Downline Team. I am BLESSED! Thought I would send everyone on my team a little "happy mail" to let them know how much I appreciate them!

Here's a close up of what they received in the mail:
