Welcome Calla!

My close and good friend became a "Nana" again for the third time. Congrats Robin! Her daughter was surprised a couple weeks early and welcomed into the world her daughter, Calla. And on my birthday too! I couldn't think of a sweeter baby to share the special day with! I wanted to send the new parents a congratulations card, and knowing the baby's name, I wanted to personalize the card. I used the Typeset Alphabet Die and die cut her name in Pink Pirouette Card Stock and attached dimensionals to the back of each letter to make them all pop up. I watercolored the bunny from the oldie, but goodie stamp set, A New Little Someone. And the "sweet baby" flag is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.  I added 2 small punched flowers adorned with tiny pearls to add a slight feminine touch. On the inside I stamped, "so glad you're here!" from the Petite Pairs stamp set. Welcome baby, Calla! The world is a little brighter with you in it! Happy Stamping!

Quick Thanks

A fun and simple thank you card featuring the Sale-A-Bration set, Pretty Petites and its coordinating punch. Great news! The punch will be available in the new 2013-2014 Catalog starting June 1! I love punches! They are such a versatile product to have with papercrafting and stamping. I added a rhinestone to each of the punched flowers and a small one onto the raised "thank you" to make the card sparkle. Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Rachael!

Happy Birthday to my niece, Rachael! She is a HUGE Doctor Who fan, so without even having to think about it I knew I would be using the telephone booth (aka Tardis) from the Feeling Sentimental Sale-A-Bration stamp set on her birthday card. I even downloaded the Doctor Who font onto my computer and used that to generate the words on the front, "Can you guess WHO loves you?". On the inside it says, "We do!" As you can tell with a lot of my posts this month that there are quite a few April birthdays in the family. It's like Christmas in the spring! Happy Stamping!

A Little Thanks

I always like to include a special little thank you card in my Stamp Club members' orders. This was the 3x3" card I included in their orders this month. I kept it simple yet wanted to pay homeage to More Mustard and Baja Breeze; two colors that will soon be departing from the Stampin' Up line up. I think the color I will miss most is Certainly Celery. That is such a versatile shade of green, it goes with all the color groups! What color will you miss? Leave a comment and let me know! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Jack!

Happy Birthday to my little man, Jack! It's so hard to believe he is turning 3 today! Time moves so fast. My baby is growing up and learning so much! He makes me laugh everyday, he teaches me new things, and he has shown me what unconditional love is. I am truly blessed to be your mommy, Jack! I love you more than anything!

I couldn't part with my All In The Family Set and its coordinating Accessories Set when they retired last year. They were two sets that I knew I would continue to use, and I have! I'm off to celebrate the day with Jack as only you can with a 3 year old, we're heading to "The Train Room"! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Kayla!

Happy Birthday to my niece, Kayla! She turned 18. Yep, she has officially entered adulthood! She'll be going off to college in the fall. Where has the time gone? This was the card I made just for her. She truly is a cupcake...sweet inside and out! It's a little hard to tell, but I added Dazzling Details on the swirls of the cupcake frosting. With Kayla, sparkle is always a good thing! Happy Stamping!

Color Challenge 4

Took some time today and got inspired by the CCMC248 color challenge over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.

I knew immediately that I wanted to use the Day of Gratitude stamp set when I saw those colors and I wanted to go vintage. I added Crumb Cake and Whisper White to the mix for my neutrals. I LOVE the background I created with the words and Crumb Cake ink. It's hard to tell, but the edges of the Whisper White card stock are roughed up pretty good to add some texture along with using the Crochet Trim ribbon, a Clear Bitty Button and Linen Thread. I made this card in 13 minutes! Woo Hoo! LOVE it when the creativity just flows! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Alex!

I have MANY more posts regarding things I want to show you pertaining to the Baltimore Regional Event I attended, but have decided to span those posts out a bit over a few weeks. So stay tuned!

Today I am changing it up a bit and sharing a birthday card I made for my nephew. Happy Birthday Alex! Yep, he turned Sweet 16. With each birthday that comes with my nieces and nephews, the older I begin to feel. I remember changing all their diapers! Alex is a mellow, non-frill kind of boy so I wanted the card to reflect that. I kept it simple in design and color. Congrats on becoming a licensed driver!

On a side note, thought I would give you a sneak peek of tomorrow's project that will be featured on my blog. Oh, the anticipation! LOL Happy Stamping!

Spoiling My Downline With #5

To finish off the day, I gave each of the gals a flavored candy stick for their ride home. I found these at my local Cracker Barrel (LOVE that place!).  I made double sided little flags with the Pennant Parade stamp set and coordinating punch and stamped the word "CREATE" from the Loving Thoughts stamp set on them to inspire each of them to go home and create something. Add a little flower and rhinestone and voila! a delicious ending to a FABULOUS day out with the gals!

Here are all 5 gifts the gals received from me throughout our day spent in Baltimore. Just a little something to let them know how special they are to me! Happy Stamping!

Spoiling My Downline With #4

Chocolate. Need I say more? I filled these cute little clear purses with a variety of chocolates for the gals to enjoy during the afternoon. The tag was made using the I Am stamp set I received at Convention 2012. Love that set!

Do you know how hard it was to carry around this much chocolate in my bag and not sneak a nibble? I refrained, and instead spoiled my gals! Happy Stamping!

Spoiling My Downline With #3

I thought I would have a little fun with the gals when it came to gift #3. I discovered this fun, new Crystal Light flavor at my local store last week and I immediately put a box of them in my cart. I thought it would be fun to "add a little kick" to the bottle of water you get with your lunch at Stampin' Up events.

I used the Blossom and Modern Label Punches for the flowers. I also did the Rock & Roll technique on the apple from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set to spice it up a bit. The gals loved them! Happy Stamping!

Spoiling My Downline With #2

Of course at every Stampin' Up event there is always some stamping going on. After the morning stamping session, I surprised each of the gals with their own hand sanitizer. Quite appropriate I thought. I added some of the fabulous Sale-A-Bration ribbon at the top of each in fun colors: Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Island Indigo. Super happy they are keeping my Pool Party in the color lineup! Happy Stamping!

Spoiling My Downline

I absolutely LOVE attending Stampin' Up events!! I always go away so inspired and wanting to keep my business moving forward and growing. I wanted each of my downline team members to have a wonderful time at the Stampin' Up! Baltimore Regional Event that we attended a few days ago. To help make their day even more special and memorable, I made up 5 different gift items to give each of them throughout the day. For many of them, this was their first time to a Stampin' Up event and they didn't know what to expect. The first gift they each received was a coordinating notepad and pen set so they could jot down any notes/ideas from the day.

Here are all of them ready to be filled with inspiring ideas! I love spoiling my gals! Tune in tomorrow to see what they received for gift #2. Happy Stamping!

Baltimore or Bust!

Hi Stampers! I was super busy prepping projects, swaps, gifts, etc. and getting ready for the Baltimore Regional Event I attended on Saturday, April 13, 2013 that I had to take a blog break for a couple days. Well, I'm back! Time to breathe again (a little). What a WONDERFUL day it was! I have so many things to share with you! It really was a memorable day for me in so many ways. I'll be sharing tidbits from that great day over several days so stay tuned! Happy Stamping!

Sympathy Wishes

Inspired by Chiaki H., I created this card for a dear couple I know who recently lost someone very close to them. The colors and design for this card were kept simple and clean. I used the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder to add texture to the Rich Razzleberry card stock and a dimensional on the back of the flower with a pearl in the center to add depth.  This card was sent with a hug inside it for my dear friends. My heart goes out to them during this difficult time. Happy Stamping!

Introducing: Bombs Away Birthday

Stampin' Up! released a new addition to their Photopolymer stamp set line called, "Bombs Away Birthday". It includes the following images:

This set is $13.95 and you can order it by using item # 133411. {You will need Clear Blocks sizes C & D to use with this set.} Happy Stamping!

A simple "hello" goes a long way. I created this card as one of the projects for my stamp club. The gals learned how to use 2 of the Apothecary Framelits in different ways. Love it when you get multiple uses out of our products! It's a little hard to tell, but I used the Cloudy Day Embossing Folder on the So Saffron background and the stamp sets used were Just Believe and Pretty Petites. Happy Stamping!

Snail Mail

A fun and playful birthday card suitable for any boy. This cute snail delivering the birthday package is from the Easy Events stamp set. Love that set! It's a little hard to tell, but there is Crystal Effects on the snail's shell making it hard and shiny like a real snail. Happy Stamping!

Butterfly Wishes

A kind friend of mine had surgery last week and I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her. I created this card and it accompanied a couple loaves of homemade banana nut bread I made and a couple things of juice for her (and her family) to enjoy during her recovery. I kept the card simple, but striking. I used Craft White Ink and stamped a blossom from the Bright Blossoms stamp set on the Daffodil Delight butterfly then adhered a Vellum Beautiful Wings Embosslit butterfly on top to add dimension. I finished off the butterly by adding a Rich Razzleberry Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon body/antenna. Here's wishing her a speedy recovery! Happy Stamping!

Olive Anyone?

I like to challenge my downline team members with different things every time we gather. Last time I gave them a large Wild Wasabi oval and said make any type of project you would like using it and bring it back the next time we gather. The ideas shared were wonderful! The gals really thought outside of the box! I thought I would share the project I made for the challenge. I saw the large oval as an oversized olive! Too funny! I stamped the martini glass in Versamark from the Happy Hour stamp set all over the Bashful Blue background to further enhance the idea. I also tried to make the olive appear as if it was on the little pick that is typical of martinis. I had fun with this challenge! Next one is to bring a project that highlights Embossing Folders....can't wait to see their ideas for that! Happy Stamping!

Color Challenge 3

I love a good color challenge over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com, but this one REALLY threw me for a loop! I would never have thought to put these three colors together. In fact, I found it to be quite hard! But, with time and perseverance, I have prevailed! At least, I think I have!

Voila! This is what I came up with. It's a little hard to tell, but I used the Rock & Roll Technique on the two flowers then hand cut them out and popped them up on dimensionals. I think the bold card stock strips background works well with the simple stamped images. Happy Stamping!
