The end of the school year is quickly approaching! Every year I always make thank you cards for my niece to give to her teachers. This year she needed two of them, so I used the basic concept, but changed them a bit to achieve a slightly different look. Which one do you prefer better? It's a tough call.
I used the apple and stem images from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set for the background. Super sad this set didn't make into the new catalog. It's one of my FAVORITES! Today is the last day to order this set! Don't delay! Happy Stamping!

I LOVE the various looks you can achieve with sponging! The possibilities are endless! I created this card using the Manahattan Flowers Embossing Folder and sponged the flowers with three different color inks: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango. Then I sponged Old Olive around the flowers to make them POP! This embossing folder is only availabe until May 31, so get it while you can! This card was one of the five we created at my Bold Backgrounds class that I held awhile back. What a fun class that was! Happy Stamping!

A close and dear couple I know lost their son recently. Inspsired by Dawn Olchefske, I created this sympathy card for them. I used Versamark to stamp the large flowering weeds from the Just Believe stamp set onto More Mustard, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake card stock strips. I used the Owl Punch to create the three tiny More Mustard circles I adhered by the greeting. I was proud of myself for coming up with the color combination. Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to two of the colors in less than a week! Get them while you can! Happy Stamping!

The family celebrated my father-in-law's birthday over the weekend. It was a milestone, the big 7-0 so only a special card would do! He is a lover of history and various tidbits of information so I wanted to incorporate that somehow into his card. I used the Word Play and Feeling Sentimenal stamp sets for the front. To achieve the tarnished look of the numbers and arrows, I sponged Basic Black ink over our Silver Glimmer Paper. Check out the inside of the card:

Thought it would be fun to participate in my first ever sketch challenge over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. I like their color challenges, so I thought I would give it a shot!
In honor of Memorial Day, I went with a red, white and blue themed card. For some reason, I always associate those colors with this holiday and Fourth of July.
I used the Snow Swirled snowflakes to replicate fireworks. I stamped the mailbox image from the For The Birds set onto Pacific Point card stock and handcut it out. Here's a close up of the image:
I thought it would be fun to use the Postage Stamp Punch for the Fabulous Phrases greeting to go along with the mailbox. Happy Stamping!

I saved the best surprise for last to share from the Baltimore Regional Event that I attended last month. As I told you in an earlier post, every time I left my seat that day there was a surprise waiting for me when I returned. Upon one of my returns, this card was sitting there. It features our new Washi Tape and Photopolymer set, Bombs Away. I immediately thought to myself, who in my group has these new items already? I admit, I was a little baffled. Then I opened it up!
Oh my heavens! I squealed like a school girl! This was from all the gang at Stampin' Up including Stamping Royalty herself, Shelli! I about fell out of my chair! Isn't this the BESTEST!?! This card in now framed and in my Stamping Studio so I get to cherish it everyday. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE IT! My Downline Gals are A M A Z I N G! They really went all out to make my day spectacular! Happy Stamping!

I made this card especially for my niece and goddaughter, Kayla. She graduated yesterday from high school and will be embarking upon a new chapter in her life this fall when she goes off to college. Congratulations Kayla! I couldn't be more proud of you! Her high school colors (my old alma mater) are black and gold. If you know Kayla, then you know her card HAD TO HAVE sparkle! Unfortunately we don't carry Gold Glimmer Paper so I made my own! I die cut the numbers with our Silver Glimmer Paper then sponged Daffodil Delight ink all over them until I obtained the gold color I wanted! I did the same with the background piece as well and the tassle. I made the motorboard using the 1" Square Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and the Owl Punch. I handcut the tassle. I LOVE the soon to be retired stamp set, Word Play and thought that stamp was perfect for a background. Happy Stamping!

Pulled out my oldie, but goodie stamp set, Have A Seat to create this card for my dear sister. Her and I have a love for antiques and vintage things, so this stamp set was a must when it first appeared in the catalog. A sure fire way to make any project become vintage, is to sponge Crumb Cake ink around all the pieces like I did here. A few touches I added were two pieces of ribbon on the DSP, piercing holes around the perimeter of the Apothecary Framelit and adding Brushed Bronze Brads. Happy Stamping!

As I mentioned yesterday, this is the thank you I made for each of my downline gals who spoiled me at the Baltimore Regional Event last month. I used the Designer Type Photopolymer set to make the "THANK YOU" background. It was a gift, so I HAD to use it of course! I used an "out of the box" idea as well by cutting apart the petals of two flowers I stamped from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and creating a fun border with it! The center of the flower is also from one of the two flowers I punched. A special thank you for very special people! Happy Stamping!

I am a very blessed gal. I have a wonderful family, friends and an amazing downline team. While at the Baltimore Regional Event last month, my downline gals spoiled me rotten! The event was the day before my birthday so they made sure that it was a special day for me. Everytime I got up from the table that day, I would come back to a surprise sitting at my spot!
Thought I would share all the wonderful treats I received that day.

Happy Mother's Day! I love giving a bouquet of flowers that I know won't wilt! I created them by using the Large Oval Punch and putting three of them together. It's a little hard to tell, but I sponged color on the edge of each to give them more depth. To create the greens, I used the 2 1/2" circle punch. I sponged a Bashful Blue sky behind and added a tag from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set. Happy Stamping!

I decided to have some fun highlighting the use of our embossing folders. I used Cloudy Day for the sky and Woodgrain to simulate tracks in the dirt. Too fun! I'm surprised and saddened that Cloudy Day is not in the new catalog coming out June 1. It makes the most wonderful of skies! Happy Stamping!

Need an awesome card in 10 minutes? Voila! Here it is. I used the Madison Avenue Sale-A-Bration stamp set and Curly Cute stamp set to make the focal points on this fun, quick card. Doesn't the Designer Series Paper make a statement as well? Add a button with Linen Thread and you've got a masterpiece in 10 minutes! Happy Stamping!

Today is my older sister, Lisa's birthday. Happy Birthday! And yes, I had to point out that she is older than me! Somehow this card seemed very appropriate for her. She IS the shop-a-holic in the family after all. I used Island Indigo, Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White and Sahara Sand inks and card stock. Kind of a different color combination, but I think it turned out well. I added Rhinestones in a couple places to give it sparkle. Happy Stamping!

At my last Downline Team Gathering, my downline member, Kelli L. (Hi Kelli!) volunteered to do a demonstration for all who attended. This was her creation that she had all of us do along with her. She demonstrated how to emboss with two different colors on one image. Too much fun and so informational! She did a FABULOUS job! Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us Kelli! Happy Stamping!

I love trying out new color combinations, they help breathe fresh air into my stamping! Once again I played along with the color challenge over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. What fun colors to play with!
I LOVE the big blossom from Betsy's Blossoms. It's just a great image that can be made into a focal point, or awesome background like I did here. Doesn't it look like Designer Series Paper? I also used White Craft Ink and stamped the leaf from that set as well onto my Basic Gray card stock to give that a little interest. Just a fun overall card! Happy Stamping!

A sweet couple I know is celebrating their wedding anniversary today. I created this card just for them for their special day. I made a fun background by die cutting the Top Note die and instead of using the actual Top Note, I used the leftover frame from it and put an Embossed piece of So Saffron card stock behind it. Voila! And I still have the Top Note to use on another project! I added a touch of softness by adding Pearls to the centers of all the flowers. Love is definitely in the air today! Happy Stamping!

The last of my swap cards I created, I decided to go a little more softer and subdued with my colors: Primrose Petals, So Saffron, Whisper White and Crumb Cake. I just have to say that I LOVE Crumb Cake. It's my "go to" neutral color that I have been using A LOT of lately. It's the new "black"! Or in my case, Chocolate Chip! Happy Stamping!

With the arrival of spring, I went bold and bright with this swap card. I really like how the Whisper White Craft Ink looks on the Daffodil Delight card stock. Usually you think of putting white ink on darker colored card stock, but adding it to bright colored card stock makes a grand statement as well. Go give it a try today. Happy Stamping!
