Happy Birthday Ralph!

You know when an idea pops into your head and you tell yourself, "Try it. It just might work." Well it did! Woo Hoo!

I thought it would be fun to use the deer from the Remembering Christmas stamp set as a silhouette in a forest. I made this card especially for Ralph, "Hunter Extraordinaire." Happy Birthday Ralph! Hope you have good luck this upcoming season!

I stamped the row of trees from Lovely As A Tree in Early Espresso ink on Sahara Sand card stock. I used a Blender Pen and various ink colors to give them a little color. I used sponges and various color inks for the sky and grassy area. After I was pleased with my background, I moved onto the focal point. I stamped the deer using Early Espresso ink. I wanted it to "really pop", so I then took the time to color in the image using my Early Espresso marker as well. I LOVE how it turned out! What an awesome stamp set that was intended for Christmas, but really made to be used anytime of year! LOVE it! I have to say, this has been one of my favorites I've made lately! Ralph, you should feel special! *smiles* Happy Stamping!

Missing SuZan

Thanks for tuning in today to see the special card I made for SuZan. Hi SuZan! I opted to try my hand at a pocket card. Something fun and different! How did I do it? I started off with a 4 1/4 x 11 inch piece of Melon Mambo card stock and folded it in half. I opened it up and then on one 4 1/4" end, I cut off 1" then scored a 1/2" and folded that down. I secured it with Sticky Strip along with both edges of the shorter sides all the way to that first fold. Clear as mud?

Check out what the insert looks like when pulled out and then you might get a better understanding:

Voila!  The pocket is the Melon Mambo piece on the right and the insert is on the left that slides in and out of the pocket. I used the Delicate Doilies, From the Heart and Sassy Salutations sets along with Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede inks and card stocks to make this fun card. Happy Stamping!

Missing Julie

You know when you meet someone and you just know you're going to be friends? That's what happened to me this year at convention. While Donna and I were sitting and waiting for our table at Olive Garden to eat supper after a long day at convention, we started talking to two other SU gals and we ended up sharing a table with them for supper. We talked, laughed, swapped stories, etc. They were so wonderful! This card highlighting the Daydream Medallion set is for Julie. Hi Julie! We've been staying in touch ever since then. Stampin' Up surely has been a blessing in my life! Tune in tomorrow to see what card I made for SuZan, the other awesome friend I made. *big smiles* Happy Stamping!

Love For My Gals

When I started with this fabulous company over 11 years ago, I didn't know what impact it would have on my life. Looking back now, I don't what I would have done without it! One of the BEST decisions I've ever made! I have made so many wonderful friends over the years and many have gone on to become members of my Downline Team. I am BLESSED! Thought I would send everyone on my team a little "happy mail" to let them know how much I appreciate them!

Here's a close up of what they received in the mail:

Would you like to receive "happy mail" like this? Sign up today to become a Stampin' Up Demonstrator with me! I would LOVE to have you on my team! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Gayle!

Today's card is for a close, sweet friend of mine who lives down the road (literally!). Yep, just like Dave from my previous post. *wink wink* Happy Birthday Gayle! They are rather a fun couple to know and spend time with! I highlighted the use of some of the new In-Colors: Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana. I know I've said it before, but I LOVE the new colors! You might be thinking, "How did she make the balloon?"  It's the hot air balloon from the You're Amazing set! I stamped the balloon then punched part of it out using the 1" circle punch and the other part using the small heart from the Owl Builder Punch for the tail part. I LOVE to multipurpose my stamps! Happy Stamping!

Introducing "Bite Me"

Halloween will be here before you know it! Stampin' Up introduced a * NEW * Photopolymer set called, Bite Me.  It's item # 134622 for $13.95. To get yours today click here. Happy Stamping!

In The Mood For Fruit

I was in the mood for fruit. Jack eats pairs all the time so he inspired me to make this thank you card. I scored lines on the Whisper White card stock to create perfect sized diamonds to stamp my pears in. Not only does it create dimension, it also creates an easy guide for perfect pair placement! I used the oldie, but goodie set Perfectly Preserved and the new Lots of Thanks set. Add a little Linen Thread and punched butterfly with Rhinestones and voila! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Dave!

Today's card was made for a dear fella who lives down the road (literally!). Happy Birthday Dave! I love the vintage truck from the oldie, but goodie set Countryside. Okay I admit, I LOVE everything vintage! There's something to be said about something that has stood the test of time. In my opinion, they just don't make things like they used to! I used a Blender Pen with various ink colors to give the truck image some color. I paired that set with Wonderfall (another one my of favorites!) and One In A Million to finish it off. This card accompanied some homemade cookies to fill his sweet tooth on his special day. Happy Stamping!

Thanks Gals!

When the gals arrive for Stamp Club, they always find "a little something" on the table waiting for them at their spot. Last month was the last scheduled gathering for that particular group so I wanted to make them something special. These cute little Thank You boxes were made using the oldie, but goodie Petal Card Punch and adhering two of them together. Each box held a different flavor of Snickers (regular, peanut butter and almond). I used three different stamp sets on these sweet treats: Sketch Alphabet & Numbers, Hello Lovely, and Lots of Thanks. Just my way of saying Thank You for being part of the club.  I appreciate each and every one of you! It really was a great group of gals! I'm looking forward to the new Club that is starting this month and the gals who have signed up to be in it. Should be fun! Prepare to be spoiled! Happy Stamping!

Going Digital

I have to admit that when I first heard Stampin' Up was going to carry a Digital Scrapbooking Program, I wasn't jumping up and down for joy. I am more of a card maker than scrapbooker so I waited awhile before getting it. I'm still learning the ropes of digital creating, but slowly and surely I'm learning new things about it all the time. I have yet to create scrapbook pages using it, but I have made quite a few invitations, tags, labels, and tweaked pictures, etc. Do I dare admit that I find it fun!

Thought I would share one of  the projects I was asked to make using the My Digital Studio. The overall size for the cookout invites is 5x7. I blocked out the personal information (hence the gray boxes), I was really pleased with how they turned out. What do you think? My advice for you: Step outside of your comfort zone and try something new. You may just surprise yourself and end up liking it! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Katie!

Today's card was made especially for my niece, Katie who turned 18! Happy Birthday Katie! If you knew Katie, you know she has a fun and bubbly personality with a twist of sweetness all wrapped into one. She is such a wonderful young lady! A couple of stamp sets went into the making of this card: Betsy's Blossoms, Gorgeous Grunge and Fabulous Phrases. I love the delicateness of the flowers mixed with the splatters of color. It's just like Katie! Happy Stamping!

When You Can't Make A Card...

I was invited to a baby shower recently and in lieu of cards, they requested that each guest give a book with well wishes written inside. How fun!  I thought to myself though, "How can this 11 year demonstrator not have a little Stampin' Up on the gift?" Then it hit me! The couple knew they were having a boy and have already given him the name of Tanner, so I thought I would create a fun TAG to put with their gifts. A tag is different than a card right??? *wink wink*

I used my Typeset Alphabet to die cut the baby's name and adhered it onto Whisper White card stock that I cut into a tag shape then attached it to the ribbon. I chose Tempting Turquoise card stock for the name to coordinate with the turquoise satin ribbon I had on hand. The shower was nice and I think they enjoyed the gifts. We can't wait to meet you Tanner! Happy Stamping!

Happy Anniversary Lisa!

A special card for a special gal on my Downline Team who just celebrated her two year anniversary as a demonstrator! Woo Hoo Lisa!! Way to go! I used the Tag It and Yippee-Skippee sets to create this fun and vibrant In-Color card. LOVE the new In-Colors, don't you? Can you see a little something extra? The words from the lizard stamp fit perfectly on the Mosaic Punch! How awesome is that?!  Happy Stamping!

Sweet Wendy

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I have the GREATEST friends in the world! Thought I would share with you an act of kindness I received from dear, sweet Wendy. It's a small bag of coffee decorated using the Perfect Blend stamp set. Don't you just love the small coffee stirrer sticking out of the cup?! Too cute! She said it was a miniature popsicle stick that she found at H*bby L*bby. I didn't know they made them that small. And the little purse is holding two Andes Mints, because you have to have a mint after your coffee. Isn't she so creative?! What a thoughtful and endearing gift to give to someone. Thanks Wendy for brightening my day! Happy Stamping!

Splattered Thanks

You're probably thinking, "Gorgeous Grunge again?" I can't help it! Ever since getting this stamp set, I keep reaching for it. I LOVE how it can help to add a small touch of 'something' to finish a project or it can be more splashy and bold as a focal point. While I was creating the small thank you's from my September 7, 2013 post here, I thought it would be fun to change it up a bit and create a larger version. What do you think? I can also admit, I am finding a new love for Linen Thread as well. Sometimes ribbon is too big or I don't have the exact color in stock, so it's Linen Thread to the rescue! It's neutral so it goes with everything! Happy Stamping!

Latest Addition

Even though I put it up a few weeks ago, I thought I would share the latest addition to my studio. It's a framed magnetic board that I made to hold cards I receive from people. I found the frame which was a rust/gold in color and well, that just wouldn't go with my Pool Party walls and Tangerine Tango Accents! So three coats of white paint later, voila! I took out the glass and matted picture and replaced it with a piece of metal that I cut to size. I LOVE how it all turned out! Here's a close up of the frame:
I wanted one that was more ornate and quite large. I have 11 foot ceilings, so it had to make a statement especially since it was going to be the only thing on the one wall in between two doors. I really was giddy the day I found the frame! I LOVE how I can see everyone's cards while I'm in there working and feel the love and friendship that comes from them. What better inspiration is that? Do you have any fun decorating ideas for your stamping space you'd like to share? I'd love to see them! Happy Stamping!

Can It Be? I WON!

I love to play along with the Color and Sketch Challenges over at when I can, and I was picked as one of the Top 3 for the September 4, 2013 Color Challenge! Woo Hoo! It's my very first challenge win online. I'm SUPER EXCITED! My winning entry was the card I made for Shelli as seen here:

Gettin' My Clay On

Thought I would play with two new products in the catalog, Simply Pressed Clay and the Clay Molds. It was a lot of fun to dabble with it, and when it dries it becomes a little rubbery. That makes it AWESOME to use when mailing cause the pieces won't break! Woo Hoo! I can see myself using the clay on many more projects in the future. *wink wink*

I made some thank you's to tuck into orders that highlighted the Gorgeous Grunge and Sassy Salutations stamp sets along with a clay flower. I left the clay as it came, white in color, but did you know that you can color it to coordinate with all our colors? How FANTASTIC is that!?! Since I used so many colors on the card already (Calypso Coral, So Saffron and Soft Suede), I felt leaving the flowers white would really pop. I encourage you to try something new today! Happy Stamping!

Color Challenge 8

Halloween is in the air. Still haven't decided just yet what Jack will be this year, but over at they are sharing fabulous Halloween inspired projects with their Color Challenge. I thought I would take the time and play along too!

Using Black Embossing Powder, I embossed the trees from Lovely As A Tree to help create a spooky forest background. This was the first time using the deer from the Remembering Christmas set in the Holiday Catalog. Love it when you can get multiple uses out of sets. More bang for your buck that way!  I have the perfect recipient in mind for this card. *wink wink* Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Carolyn!

I really love the Swallowtail stamp. I've been using it a lot lately and ask myself, "Why did I wait so long to get it?". I made this card for my mother-in-law's birthday. She is a 'say something pink' kind of lady so I always try to incorporate pink into her cards every year. I embossed the butterfly with black embossing powder which made it easy to add the colors using an Aquapainter. Daffodil Delight surrounds the body, fading out into Pink Pirouette and finally a burst of Strawberry Slush at the ends completes this summery butterfly. I inked up Gorgeous Grunge with Crumb Cake ink to add the speckles which balanced out the boldness of the butterfly nicely. Happy Stamping!
