Wanna Swap?

I can't believe it took me this long to share with you one of the swaps I made for Convention this year. It's a little hard to tell, but the large oak leaf is sponged with Crumb Cake ink to make it a little more rustic. I had fun making about 100 of these cards, but since I did have to make such a large amount, I did keep them fairly simple. Remember...when you have to make a lot of one, or don't have a lot of time, simple can still be stunning! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Dawn!

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the colors, the weather, the smells, just everything about it! But today I needed a fix of bright colors once again. I had a bunch of Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush flowers already punched and sitting in my little basket on my desk just waiting for the perfect opportunity to adorn a project. I made this birthday card for my SIL. Happy Birthday Dawn!

It's a little hard to tell, but I adhered all the flowers onto a piece of Basic Grey card stock then put it in the Polka Dot Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot so the background is texturized. Happy Stamping!

Champagne Bubbles & Caviar Dreams

Sorry, couldn't help myself making reference in the title to Robin Leach who used to have to the show, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. I made this card a while ago for a dear couple I know celebrating their anniversary. I used the Happy Hour stamp set for the words and glasses. I used the oldie, but goodie set Circle Circus for the bubbles on the strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock. After all, what's champagne without the bubbles right? The small punched heart is from the Owl Builder punch. To create some visual interest, I actually sponged So Saffron ink onto the Whisper White card stock label in a smaller label size. Here's to many more wonderful years together! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Jessi!

My niece recently turned 16. Happy Birthday Jessi! In honor of this milestone event of getting her license, this was the birthday card I made for her. Using the oldie but goodie set, Travel Time for the car; I have her driving to Maryland to come visit us! After all, she can do it now...and I really wish she would! I miss my family! *sniffle sniffle*

To create the background I used Lovely As A Tree along with various ink colors and sponge daubers. I created the Maryland sign by hand. Thought you might like a peak of the inside:

Visions of Butterflies

I had a vision in my head of using darker tones for the large Swallowtail stamp, but still making it feminine and pretty. I stamped the butterfly in Early Espresso ink, then added color to it using Soft Sky and Night of Navy inks with a sponge dauber. How do you soften it up a little and make it pretty? Add sparkle of course! I added a punched strip of our Glimmer Paper and a punched Glimmer Paper butterfly for accents. But the real sparkle -

Yep, I used Dazzling Diamonds and glittered the actual butterfly! In person, this card was screaming sparkle! So when you have a vision, go with it and see where it takes you! Happy Stamping!

Sweet Sandy (Literally!)

I wanted to share with you the fabulous treats I received on Halloween from my dear friend and newest team member, Sandy! Thanks girlie! It really made my day, especially since I was sick all week with a cold. I'm an owl lover and this card was just too cute! It's a little hard to tell, but the tree is actually black glitter. The card stock pockets are holding my sweet treats and they too are sparkly. Who wouldn't love opening their mailbox and finding this inside?! Thanks for brightening my week Sandy! You're the BEST! Happy Stamping!

Feel Better Quickly

A dear friend had an unfortunate accident recently. She is healing now and hopefully this card helped to brighten her recovery a little bit. I used an updated fall color combination of: Midnight Muse, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit, Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple and Baked Brown Sugar. The leaves are sponged with Crumb Cake ink to age them a bit. My favorite part is the knotted bow. I used a strip of our Cotton Ribbon, cut it in half length wise, tied it in a knot then used my Paper Piercer to break apart the strands. Just another creative way to use our ribbon! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Brandon!

I wanted to share with you a very special card that I made for a special little boy. Happy Birthday Brandon!  His party was Bubble Guppies themed so I knew only a fish card would do! And well, here's what I came up with: a 3D under the water scene! Lots of punches went into the making of this card, and lots of sponging (it's hard to tell, but trust me it's there!). I enclosed the three layer fish scene behind a piece of Window sheet to protect it all. Here's a side view to help you better understand (minus the bubbles....I added those after I took this pic) -

Yep, there are three separate layers behind the window sheet. The card can be folded flat and fits in regular envelope and when you pull it out, it pops open to create the 3D effect. His party was fun and I hope he enjoyed his special card and gift it accompanied. Happy Stamping!

Pumpkin Treats

Fun little pumpkin treats for some very special people! The pumpkins are made using the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch which I then texturized using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I cut off the bottom of the scallops to make them sit straight. The leaves are the wing from the Bird Builder Punch and the Trick Or Treat is from the Tags 4 You stamp set found in the holiday catalog along with it's coordinating punch that made punching these out easy peasy. What's treat does the pumpkin contain you wonder? Check it out -

One of my favorites...a Reeses Peanut Butter cup! Here's a side view to show you how my little pumpkins were assembled. Super fun and easy to make! Happy Stamping!
