Color Challenge 12

Thought I would join in on the fun today and take the color challenge over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. Doesn't this color combination scream spring?!? Love it! I had to make a special card for a dear, sweet friend of mine who went above and beyond to help me out last week so these colors were a jump start for her card.

I knew I wanted to use the "You're Amazing" stamp set because simply, my friend is AMAZING! To achieve the two colors on the word "Amazing" I first inked it up with my Daffodil Delight ink pad, then took a sponge dauber and my Calypso Coral ink pad and dabbed on some color on the top part of the letters and blended it downward. I did it 3 times to make sure the coral color was intense at the top. What do you think? It almost gives the appearance of fire or flames doesn't it? How cute would that technique be on a fire engine/firefighter card? Love it!

Here's a close up of the card, you can see the different layers I used. I hand cut out one hot air balloon in Bermuda Bay ink, and the flags out of one Daffodil Delight balloon and adhered them on top of the Bermuda Bay balloon. I also had fun tucking and twirling a piece of our White Baker's Twine around the card to help draw your eyes around the card. Did you find the 3 rhinestones I added for the 'bling factor'? Too fun! Happy Stamping!
