Color Challenge 15

Intrigued by the color selection, I played along with the Color Challenge over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com this week. I knew instantly that I was going to make a Christmas inspired card, how could I not?

I kept it simple and clean, but with a little twist. Can you tell how I made the wreath? I stamped and punched out numerous flowers from the Petite Petals stamp set in Garden Green ink. Who would have thought that flowers can make a wreath. They do! Versatility, it's all about it when it comes to paper crafting. *big smiles*

In order to achieve and maintain the wreath shape, I die cut a wreath using the Wonderful Wreath Framelits and then adhered each individual flower to it. I also altered the Cherry Cobbler bow that I die cut from that same framelit set as well. I took an Exacto Knife and cut out slits to have the bow look more like a tied ribbon on the wreath.

To add a little " somethin' somethin' " to the card, I added a Baked Brown Sugar star onto the "joy" to help tie in the stars I embossed on the larger piece of Baked Brown Sugar found behind the wreath. Adding little details like that help the cohesiveness of the card to come alive. Happy Stamping!

  1. LOVE how you made your wreath and such great use of just the framelits on this. GREAT Christmas card! Thanks for playing along this week in the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!

  2. Oh...had to look a little closer and see that it was the Petite Petals FLOWER not the wreath set you used! Awesome way to think outside the box! Thanks for playing along with the color challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary!

  3. What a creative way to use the flower stamp and punch to make a wreath! I love your details on the bow, too! Beautiful card! Thanks for playing the challenge at Create with Connie and Mary!

  4. I love the horizontal shape of your card and the layout you chose. It really allows the "JOY" to fit nicely. Really pretty card and very creative. Thanks for joining us this week at Create with Connie and Mary.

  5. Such a lovely layout using the Baked Brown Sugar for the background of the wreath... and such a creative wreath too, using the framelit and covering it with flowers!! Thanks for joining us for the Create with Connie and Mary color challenge this week!
