Happy Birthday Duean!

I must share a little background of the story that goes along with today's card. My brother-in-law is a pretty easy going guy with a sense of humor. On his birthday wish list, it included "new boxer shorts". I KNEW right away, that's what I was going to give him. But give them to him in "style".

I got creative and made him a "Boxer Bouquet". What guy wouldn't like receiving that, right? LOL What is a "Boxer Bouquet", you ask?  Take a look, these flowers don't wilt. *wink wink*

I try and coordinate the card with what the gift is. After giving it some thought, this is what I came up.

Cute huh? I used various punches to make this card. The bubbles in the bathtub are glistening with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Don't you love the little owl wearing the towel? And the little chest hair stubble it has?! I tell you, I was giggling the entire time I was making this card. If you're not giggling yet, then VOILA! check this out!!

The towel opens up to reveal the owl wearing heart boxers!! I got such a HOOT out of this card! He thought it was pretty funny too! Happy Stamping!

Stamping 'On The Edge'

Little thank you notes are always fun to make. I love tucking them in with customer's orders as a sweet little surprise for them. With today's card I wanted to use a fun and fresh color combination: Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Early Espresso. It was after the colors were chosen that the stamps were chosen. Normally, it's the other way around for me. But I decided to live 'on the edge' and do it the other way around! LOL I opened my stamp cabinet and Hello Lovely jumped out at me and this creation was born! Have you tried stamping 'on the edge' lately? If not, give it a try! It will jump start your creativity! Happy Stamping!

Snowy Thoughts

I'm doing a switch on you today. Yesterday's card had you feeling like you were on a tropical island and today you're back to the reality of winter. Brrr! I kept the design simple, and color choices unique. Who knew you could have Wisteria Wonder and Crumb Cake snowflakes?! Well, you can!

Here's an up close look at the die cut snowflake -

I actually stamped it twice and cut out just the middle of one and popped it up using Dimensionals on the second one. A nice touch to give the card some depth. Hope you're staying warm today! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Tracy!

Another fun birthday card to share with you today. It's kind of funny, my dear friend who I sent this to is actually in Hawaii right now as I am writing this. Oh, the irony of it all! Hope you're having a blast Tracy! I'm super jealous!

I whipped out my Happy Hour stamp set along with some fun colors: Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizazz, Whisper White and Night of Navy and went to town. It's a little hard to tell, but there is Dazzling Diamonds on the glass to give it a little sparkle.

And voila! Here's the inside before I personalized it.

Love those little umbrellas! I hope your day includes a little sparkle too! Happy Stamping!

Birthday 'Tweet'

A cheerful and bright colored birthday card I made for a kind friend. She's received it already so I can share it now! Didn't want to ruin the surprise after all. *wink wink*  I highlighted the use of two stamp sets: For The Birds and Daydream Medallions. The color combination is Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Whisper White and Summer Starfruit. I had fun using our Stampin' Write markers to give the nest a variety of color. Figured  this was a good day to share this card; as we are in the middle of getting 4-6 inches of snow! Oh my! Happy Stamping!

Trio of Thanks

Today's card may be little in size, but big in gratitude. This 3 x 3 inch card was created using the Hello Doily, Lots of Thanks and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets. To make the large doily stamp more of a focal point and not just a background, I used sponge daubers and Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry inks to give it some color. I mimicked that same color combination with the "thanks!", stamping it 3 times in each of the colors. Sometimes little word stamps can get a 'little lost' on cards, but if you stamp them multiple times they make more of a statement. Give it a try! You just might surprise yourself of the creation you make. Happy Stamping!

Fishy Love

You know when you have an idea in your head and you think to yourself, "I wonder if..."? Well, I had this crazy idea that the Fishin' Around stamp set would make a cute anniversary card. After all, don't these two fish look like they like each other? Using the Woodgrain background stamp, I created a cabinet for the fish bowl to sit on and the words from the Yippee-skippee stamp set are perfect!

A close up of the fish bowl shows you that I added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the treasure, a punched heart from the Owl Builder Punch and then I covered the entire fish bowl with a coat of Crystal Effects so it actually looks like everything is behind glass. LOVE IT! Happy Stamping!

Reindeer Treats

Thought I would share with you some fun little reindeer treats I had made for some very special people last month!

I knew when I saw the Remembering Christmas stamp set in the Holiday Catalog that it was a "must-have". I didn't necessarily want it for Christmas projects, but more for masculine cards. Everyone knows a hunter right?  After making several masculine cards with it, it finally dawned on me, that Rudolph was at my finger tips!

I stamped the deer in Baked Brown Sugar, and using a red Sharpie marker I colored a Rhinestone and put it on the end of his nose. Voila! Rudolph! It makes for cute and quick tags for some tasty treats. Happy Stamping!

Coloring My Leaves

I had a long list of thank you cards to make for some really wonderful people. So, you'll be seeing quite a few "thank you's" in the following weeks. What can I say? Majority of the cards I make are either for birthdays or sending a note of thanks. I would think that most people would agree with me on that.

Even though it's past the fall season, I stamp with leaves year round! Ah yes, Wonderfall is my "go to" stamp set most of the time. LOVE IT! You could really use any color with it - bolds, pastels, neutrals. The possibilities are endless!

For this color combination, I used Crushed Curry, Pear Pizazz, Island Indigo, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Crumb Cake. A variety of colors from all different color families. Think outside the box a little when choosing your colors....they don't always have to be from the same color family to make it marvelous! Happy Stamping!

I'm Back & Bringing Spring With Me!

Hi everyone! What can I say, but I'M BACK!

Life was getting pretty chaotic for me and then the holiday season really threw me for a whirl so stamping was put on the back burner for a few weeks. Now it's a new year and a new start. Life has calmed down so it's back to stamping! Gotta love that about this business, it travels on life's journey with you. Through ups and downs, twists and turns it will be always be there for you. So I thank YOU, my stamping customers and friends, for your patience and continued support. You're the BEST!

What better way to get the creative juices flowing again that to join in on a Sketch Challenge over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.  I knew I wanted to bring out some more bright and cheerful colors to use on my card. I am so over winter and ready for spring arrive! Without further ado - voila!

I used Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pear Pizazz, Whisper White and So Saffron for my color scheme. I dusted off my Summer Silhouettes set, Typeset Alphabet Dies and Small Butterfly punch and went to town. Awe yes, a touch of spring in my stamping studio today. Now, if the weather outside would join in as well! *wink wink* Happy Stamping! I've missed you!
