Color Challenge 20

Happy Wednesday! Thought I'd take a minute and play along with the color challenge over at Create With Connie and Mary today. I know the challenge is already closed to enter, but I found this color combination intriguing and decided to go with it anyway! I needed an anniversary card for a special couple I know and these colors were a great jumping off point!

I am in LOVE with the Something Lacy background stamp in the All Occasions catalog. It gives such a "wow" factor when inked up and stamped no matter what color it is! Here it is shown in Tangelo Twist. After stamping it, I then took our fabulous Heart Framelits and die cut a little window to allow the words to be shown through. The little butterfly is from the Sale-A-Bration set, Nature's Perfection and I added a touch of Gold Glitter to its body for a little sparkle. Add a gold ribbon along the bottom to round out this simple, but stunning card and it's done! Happy Stamping!

Creation Station Blog Hop - Happy Mother's Day!

Why hello there! Thanks so much for dropping by this sunny Sunday morning. I've been busy planning and creating for my little one's 5th birthday party coming up in six days. He's asked for a superhero themed event and I can't wait to share pics after the big day of all the wonderfulness I've created for it. But until then, we'll focus on today's blog hop. *smiles*

For this time our options were -
  • Use the Mother's Love or Painted Petals stamp sets
  • Use our Large Kraft Journals
  • Mother's Day themed projects

I thought I would go with the third option and share the card I made for my mother that is going in the mail tomorrow. Shhh! Don't tell her!

She is a lover of flowers and gardening. She literally has hundreds of flowers she tends to all summer long. And since she lives half way across the country from me I figured a few more in the mail would make her day! I paired up two fabulous sets - Crazy About You and From the Garden to create this basket full of flowers. Curious as to how I created the word "MOM" on the one plant stake? Using our fabulous Stampin' Write Marker in Calypso Coral, I inked up only the "MO" of the "Mother's Day" stamp in the Crazy About You set, then cleaned it and inked up only the "M" again to create the word  "MOM".  By having this set in photopolymer, it was no trouble at all lining it all up! Gotta love that!

Depending on where you started on this blog hop, you can go back and revisit the other Jennifer's  superb creativity or you can hop along to see what delightfulness Deborah has to share with you today! Happy Stamping!
