Happy Sunday stamping friends! I hope your Halloween was a "faboolous" one! Ours isn't over quite yet. In fact, at this minute I am busy getting ready for a Halloween party I am hosting tonight. Since Friday night was the actual trick-or-treating around town, and last night was the town's big Mummers Parade (that lasts hours!), I was left with tonight to have family gather together so my little Batman this year and his cousins could see each other in costume and celebrate this spooky holiday. In the meantime, I thought you would enjoy a couple of projects I created using the Thankful Forest Friends set. Since our theme for this blog hop was being thankful, I knew this set would be perfect!
I wanted to do a little something different with this set and the animals, so I stamped them in Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso ink then took a 1 1/8" square of card stock and traced around the images with a pencil and carefully cut them out while purposefully leaving part of their bodies outside of that square. I think that gives them a little personality don't you think? I then matted each one onto the coordinating card stock and carefully cut those out too. Recognize the background on the piece of Old Olive card stock? I used the small single stem stamp that is in that set too!
I had fun with the greeting by not only omitting the image surrounding the words, but I also stamped "THANKS" on those same three colors of card stock and cut them out. Each one is popped up on a dimensional to give it depth. I added two Linen Thread bows to make it mimic a hanging banner. Sometimes simple things make a big impact!
Then I thought it would be cute to make a coordinating treat box and wanted to highlight the cute little bear (he is my favorite out of the set). Aren't our Tiny Treat Boxes just the cutest? I LOVE using them for little favors! I adhered a piece of Into The Woods Designer Series Paper to each side of the box. Then ran a band of grass made out of Old Olive card stock that I sponged with Old Olive ink and snipped with our Fringe Scissors all the way around as well. For the fun banner on top (isn't that neat?!), I used the stamp from the Acorny Thank You stamp set, two Linen Bows again and two toothpicks that I cut flat on the ends. I used our Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere them on the piece of Old Olive card stock on top.
For my fun little bear, I took actually stamped him two times. One I cut him out completely and the other I cut out his muzzle and both hands and adhered them onto the complete bear. The sign he's holding is simple the Washi Tape Punch. Did you notice the two acorns in the grass? They are from that same piece of DSP that I adhered to the sides of the box! I just simply cut them out of it.
I hope you enjoyed your stop here today! I surely appreciated it! Depending on where you started on our hop you can either go back and see what creative genius Nicole has for you or you can move along to see what awesome stamping skills Julie has to share with you today. Happy Stamping!
