Especially for Kelli

Today I thought I would share the Leadership "pillow gifts" I created and gave to my roommate, Kelli. Hi girlie!! Each day I wanted to give her a little something to brighten her day and tell how appreciative I was to be on this stamping adventure together.

Day 1: Every stamper knows that you need a notepad and pen to take notes during the classes and what not at any Stampin' Up event. Here I created a fun monogrammed cover for it using the Leadership logo. That way, she'll always know what event her notes were from. It accompanies a matching pen, tic tacs (because good breath is always welcome in a room of 1,700 people), and a bottle of hand sanitizer (because frankly it comes in handy....a lot)! I got her the Caribbean Escape scented one as that was the closest we were going to get to it! LOL

Wondering how the notepad opened with the Burlap Ribbon I had around it? Look no further!

I got sneaky and added Velcro to the ribbon so it could easily be opened and shut. Plus the piece on the left hides the legs of the Antique Brad I attached. So it's dual purpose!

Day 2: I created a small little purse/tote out of the Top Note die and put three Sponge Daubers in a small cello bag. I also filled a small clear paint can with chocolate. Because we all know stamping and chocolate go hand in hand! That cute little heart I stamped on the purse flap and paint can tag is from the Sale-A-Bration set, Best Day Ever. Super cute set! Want to see what's on top of the paint can?

A flower I created using the Blossom Punch. I can't remember if I used 6 or 7 punched flowers to create it. Took a little time, but isn't it just pretty? And the perfect size for the lid!

Day 3: This day was "Watermelon Inspired." Inside a large cello bag I put a bag of watermelon licorice (Kelli, how did it taste?), one of those egg-shaped watermelon flavored lip balms that are all the rage right now, and a small watermelon shaped notepad. For the tag, I used the 'paint swipe' from the Work of Art set to create a watermelon slice and heart shaped seeds gave it a nice touch.

Day 4: This day was full of tasty treats and useful things! Wondering what is inside the box and metal tin?

Inside the box was two delicious Lindt chocolates - one Caramel Brownie and one Salted Caramel. Like I said, chocolate and stamping go together like Batman and Robin! I don't have any directions for the box, I simply measured the chocolates and from there created a box for them to fit into on the fly. Cause that's how I roll sometimes!

Inside the tin was 50 of the small clothespins that she can use on stamping projects. LOVE those little guys! Plus this tin is a neat way to store them and once she uses them all, she can fill it with something else. I coordinated the color of the chocolate box to the color of the tin; and the cover of the box to the tag. I can't help myself! I LOVE when things "go together"! LOL

Here's everything together. I LOVE creating and giving "pillow gifts"! She's such a wonderful friend, downline and roomie that she deserved all this and more! Thanks for the memories Kelli!

Leadership 2015 Highlights

(You can click on the photo above to make it bigger.)

I was so thrilled to attend Leadership a few weeks ago in Orlando, Florida! About 1,700 demonstrators gathered for business training, creativity, catch up with friends we don't get to see very often (Hi Debi!) and make new ones too! (Hello my new Florida friend, Jody!)

Classes were fun and informative (I was excited to see some of the demos whose blogs I tune into stamping some fabulous projects on stage.); food was good; and the laughs didn't stop!  Kelli, my partner in crime on this trip (top left photo) and I also took time to visit Downtown Disney and "Little Havana", walk the "strip" and go in a what seemed like a million souvenior shops and see upside down buildings, and even took time to soak up a little sun. She was such a wonderful roomie and spoiled me with "pillow gifts" of sweet smelling lotion and chocolate. Two things I LOVE! Thanks again girlie! As you can see in the photo next to her and I, I came home with a large amount of "WONDERFULNESS" from Stampin' Up! Love all the 'perks' of attending events like this!

Thought you'd enjoy seeing a few hightlighted pics of my trip. It was fun and I'm so glad we went! Tune in tomorrow to see the wonderful "pillow gifts" I spoiled her with during the trip. Until my next stamping adventure.... Happy Stamping!

Splattered Butterflies

I am truly grateful for all that my stamping business has brought to me in the 13 years I've been with the company. Wonderful friends, fabulous customers, and a great downline are to name a few! I like to send a card or something to the members in my Downline Team from time to time, whether they are local or long distance, I want them to know I appreciate them! This card I sent them highlighted one of my favorite sets, Gorgeous Grunge. Oh the possibilities with this set is endless! LOVE it! The colors I chose were Tangelo Twist, Coastal Cabana, Hello Honey and Rich Razzleberry. I used Dazzling Details on the bodies of the butterflies to give it a little sparkle. Thanks gals for going on this stamping journey with me! Happy Stamping!

Flowers & Friendship

I don't know about you, but here on the East Coast I am so ready for spring! Enough of the white stuff, the icy stuff and the cold stuff....bring on the sunshine, the flowers and the warmth! In the hopes of spring arriving sooner than later, I thought I would share this colorful spring-inspired friendship card with you today. I scored the piece of Whisper White card stock then stamped various flowers from the Petite Petals stamp set inside each of the boxes created with the scoring. Here's a close up to show it a little better -

By scoring the background first I knew exactly where to stamp and I created the floral background in no time at all! And what a statement it makes, don't you think? I continued the flowers on the inside as well -

I always try and do a "little something" to the inside of the cards I create. Why create such wonderfulness on the outside and leave it empty on the inside right? We can't have that! Thanks for stopping by today, until next time - Happy Stamping!

Burlap Thanks

I always like to include a little thank you in my club member's orders. These cute little cards are 3 x 3" and filled with lots of gratitude! I am a country girl who LOVES her burlap! I couldn't help but adhere a small piece of our fabulous Burlap Ribbon for texture onto the Whisper White card stock. To it, I added two punched flowers from the Petite Petals set - one in Crisp Cantaloupe and the other in Pool Party - along with punched leaf branches from the Build A Bird Punch.

So fun! And yet so simple and sweet. Love it! Happy Stamping!

Seeing Some Action

Sometimes I just want to "change things up a bit." And in this case, it was using colors that don't necessarily get a lot of "action" on a regular basis in my projects. I challenged myself to use Sahara Sand, Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow. I had borrowed the set, Kinda Eclectic from a dear friend (thanks Kelli!), and gave it a whirl. Somehow these colors that sit and stare at me on my desk silently screaming, "Pick me! Pick me!" worked well together on this card. What do you think? Not too shabby right? So when you are looking to "change things up a bit," choose colors or stamps you haven't used in a while. It may be the breath of fresh air you needed in your stamping! Happy Stamping!

Over The Moon Excited

I sent this card a while ago, and forgot to share this with you until today. It was made especially for dear friends of mine who found out they will be grandparents again. Congrats Robin & Bob! I am so happy for them that the big "Congratulations" stamp from the Bravo set made the background pop with excitement! The moon is from the Pictogram Punches set and stamped on a 2 1/2" punched out circle. Since this will be their 4th grandchild, I added four Glimmer Paper punched stars for some sparkle and to signify each of their precious darlings. This new little addition will be so lucky to have them as grandparents. Happy Stamping!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Yes, yes it is! Frigid temps outside means frozen pipes inside. So NOT fun. Hoping when they thaw that they don't burst. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for that! I actually wish the cup from the Perfect Blend stamp set was filled with hot chocolate and not coffee, that sounds good right about now on such a cold day. This was a fun and easy card to whip up in no time. Colors used where Baked Brown Sugar, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Whisper White and Lost Lagoon. I thought the splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set look like coffee drips and give the background a punch of pizazz! Hope you are staying warm today if you are on the East Coast like me. Now....someone mentioned hot chocolate. Happy Stamping!

Creation Station Blog Hop - Big Day & Celebrate Today

I'm so happy to be back blog hopping again. I'm on day 10 of being sick. Blah! I caught a nasty virus that's going around, doc said I was one of the more severe cases that had come in and would take longer to get over. Yeah for me....that's not my definition of winning the lottery! I'm not 100% yet and still get tired out easily, but I am on the upswing. Thank goodness because with healing comes stamping!

For this time our options were -

  • Use the Big Day Sale-A-Bration stamp set
  • Use the Celebrate Today stamp set (and/or framelits)
  • Birthday themed projects

I took one look at the list and said, "I can SO do that!" My first card showcases the Big Day Sale-A-Bration set. This is an AWESOME choice for your FREE item when placing a $50 order now through March 31!

I stamped the single candle with Versamark on the Crumb Cake card stock to give the card a little whimsy. I also had fun with our Textured Embossing Folders by creating a statement with the punched hexagons. It's a little hard to tell, but I added Crystal Effects on top of the words "Celebrate" and "CAKE" to really make it shine. A fun and colorful birthday card suitable for men or women! Gotta LOVE that!

For my next project, I really wanted to step outside the box with the Celebrate Today stamp set and framelits bundle. I'm always looking to stretch my money when it comes to investing in framelits, punches, etc. The more you can do with them, the better investment they are!

Using the balloon shape framelit, I created an exploding bomb! I simply die cut it out of our Basic Black card stock and using our Whisper White ink, I sponged it and added a piece of our white Baker's Twine coming out the end.

Here's a close up so you can see that I added a little Crushed Curry on the end of the Baker's Twine and how I used the star/circle confetti as the explosion. Too fun! I was pretty proud of myself for coming up with this clever idea. What do you think?

I hope you enjoyed this stop along your blog hop today. I had fun getting back into my studio and creating something to share with you today! Depending on where you started on this blog hop, you can go back and revisit Jennifer's sensational creativity or you can hop along to see what cleverness Deborah has to share with you today! Happy Stamping!

Color Challenge 16

Hello my stamping friends! I am back from a wonderful and sunny Orlando! I had a FABULOUS time at Stampin' Up's Leadership conference. I learned new things not only on the creative stamping side, but also on the business end of it too. And of course, I had a spectacular time with my friend and roomie, Kelli! Then again we could have a great time sitting in an SUV for hours really not going anywhere.....oh wait, we did that!!! LOL Shout out to my girl - "I'd go anywhere with ya' Kelli!"

I came home and that night and Jack started not feeling well, and he is still under the weather so while he is resting I thought I would play along with the color challenge over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.

This color combination took some time to figure out what my course of action would be as I found it to be challenging.

In the end, I used a combination of a FREE Sale-A-Bration set, Best Day Ever; and two Occasions Catalog sets, Celebrate Today and Hooray It's Your Day. It's a little hard to tell, but the punched Sweetheart Punch hearts are textured using the Dots Embossing Folder. The three 'Celebrates' are hand cut out and also popped up on dimensionals. Happy Stamping!
