Happy Birthday Kirk!
Tonight we are celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday. If you knew him you'd know he's a "meat" man...and VERY hard to shop for! Ha! Since one of his gifts we are giving him is bacon inspired I thought I should make a card to match. So bacon and eggs it is!
For the eggs I simply freehand cut the shape out of Whisper White card stock. Then I gently sponged Crushed Curry ink around the edge so it looks a little "buttery". The yolks are two 1 3/8" Circle Punches of So Safron card stock that I sponged with Crushed Curry ink until I achieved the look I was going for.
The bacon strips believe it or not began as one long strip of Sahara Sand card stock. I simply sponged on Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler ink until it started to resemble the color of bacon. I then took Cherry Cobbler and Cajun Craze Stampin' Write Markers and added the lines along with the Signo White Gel Pen for highlights. I tore the piece into two separate pieces to make the 2 strips of bacon and crinkled them up good with my hands. What do you think? Looks good enough to eat doesn't it? Hopefully he likes it too! Happy Stamping!

ReplyDeleteBelated happy birthday to Kirk! I hope he had a great time on his birthday. My brother is going to turn 16 in June. Making plans to host a surprise party for him. Looking for affordable outdoor venues in Los Angeles for hosting a soccer themed party.
