Adventure Awaits

Hello my stamping friends! Today's sketch challenge over at Create With Connie & Mary 'spoke' to me. And by speaking to me, I mean the image called for me to use the new Always An Adventure stamp set and create a forest scene.

So that's just what I did! I stamped the lake first in Dapper Denim ink then stamped an additional lake on scrap paper and cut that one out. I layered the cut lake over this one to create a mask which allowed me to stamp the two different trees in Cucumber Crush and Pear Pizazz around it. I also stamped and die cut three of them for the foreground. I die cut the plank sign and then cut it half and created an extra large plank by hand where I stamped the greeting from Places You'll Go stamp set and 'reassembled' the plank sign. Stamped a few clouds, add some bears, and voila! the scene is complete. Such a great set to work with! Happy Stamping!

It's A Jar Thing

Super busy week here as I am trying to plan an Open House, a trip to the midwest, and trying to keep my little one entertained while off from school plus keep the household maintained with all the regular ongoings and working a couple days a week. So today's posting will be short and sweet to go along with my clean and simple card.

I am absolutely in * LOVE * with the new Jar of Love stamp set and coordinating framelits! It was the perfect go to set with this week's color challenge. I am a lover and owner of A LOT of the blue and green mason jars so that's where my creative spirit went this week over at Create With Connie & Mary. Where does your creative spirit take you with these 3 fabulous colors? I'd love to see! Happy Stamping!

Feeling 'Woody'

Hope today finds you happy, healthy and stamping! I thought the layout for this week's sketch challenge at Create With Connie & Mary lended itself to some fun interpretations. I know some of the other Design Team Members' projects will knock your socks off! Remember to stop by their blogs and share some love with them!

I've had the look of wood on the brain lately. So of course I was going to reach for our fabulous Hardwood background stamp. Crumb cake ink on Crumb Cake card stock is the perfect 'wood' combination in my mind! I decided to add a garden scene using the Botanical Builder Framelits and Small Butterfly Punch in Calypso Coral, So Safron, Pear Pizazz and Pumpkin Pie. I thought the Night of Navy card stock anchored all the colors together. I encourage you to join in on this sketch challenge fun. What does it say to you? Happy Stamping!

He Brightens My Day

Today is bittersweet for me. Yesterday was Jack's last day of Kindergarten. *sniffle sniffle* His class had a short program that included each of the kids telling what they wanted to be when they grow up and what they will use to do that job. The kids had to research and write out their speaking part and dress the part. Jack wrote the following, "I want to be a farmer. I will milk and feed the cows. Farmers are very helpful. Tools I will use are hammers, big tractors and lawn mowers." Boy, do I LOVE this little boy! I am so proud of him, but I am sad that he is growing up so fast! I cannot possibly have a first grader now. No way!

In honor of Jack, he was my inspiration behind this week's color challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. He brightens my day everyday! I thought the sunburst stamp from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar paired perfectly with the saying from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set. I die cut the Sunburst Thinlet out of Daffodil Delight card stock and layered in between the Bermuda Bay and White White layers to add some interest. I am in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets! They help to set off my focal point nicely. I simulated a sun using the extra points the Sunburst Thinlet left and the 1 3/8" Circle Punch. Wrapped Linen Thread adds texture and Rhinestones placed spuratically around give it some sparkle. Thanks for stopping by today. We would love for you to play along with this color challenge this week! Happy Stamping!

Sail Away

"Time to make the donuts." Anyone else remember that commercial from back in the day? No donuts today, but it is time to play with new toys! The new catalog is now live, which means lots of new stamps, embellishments, die cuts and colors will be coming your way with our weekly challenges at Create with Connie & Mary. This week's sketch challenge lended itself nicely to the new Swirly Birds bundle.

What I love about this particular new set is that you can make it feminine or masculine. It's a double bonus and a must have stamp set in everyone's collection! I was inspired over the weekend with the red, white and blue colors. I chose Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede for my sailboat. Marina Mist makes wonderful waves and water. Sponged Pool Party makes for a soft sky and Daffodil Delight is the perfect choice for the shining sun. I added Wink of Stella to the clouds and the sailboat for added interest. The words are from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set and embossed using Versamark and White Embossing Powder. Thanks for stopping by today and sailing away with me! We'd love for you to play along with the sketch challenge this week. Happy Stamping my friends!
