He Brightens My Day

Today is bittersweet for me. Yesterday was Jack's last day of Kindergarten. *sniffle sniffle* His class had a short program that included each of the kids telling what they wanted to be when they grow up and what they will use to do that job. The kids had to research and write out their speaking part and dress the part. Jack wrote the following, "I want to be a farmer. I will milk and feed the cows. Farmers are very helpful. Tools I will use are hammers, big tractors and lawn mowers." Boy, do I LOVE this little boy! I am so proud of him, but I am sad that he is growing up so fast! I cannot possibly have a first grader now. No way!

In honor of Jack, he was my inspiration behind this week's color challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. He brightens my day everyday! I thought the sunburst stamp from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar paired perfectly with the saying from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set. I die cut the Sunburst Thinlet out of Daffodil Delight card stock and layered in between the Bermuda Bay and White White layers to add some interest. I am in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets! They help to set off my focal point nicely. I simulated a sun using the extra points the Sunburst Thinlet left and the 1 3/8" Circle Punch. Wrapped Linen Thread adds texture and Rhinestones placed spuratically around give it some sparkle. Thanks for stopping by today. We would love for you to play along with this color challenge this week! Happy Stamping!
