Feel Better Dad

Hello my stamping friends! My mind has been on my dad lately. He's been having some pains over the past couple weeks and and went into the hospital for some invasive testing. It's hard to be half way across the country in times like this. I am hoping he does find the answers he is seeking so a course of action can be taken and his pain can be relieved. What's really hard is the not knowing. Inspired by all of this going on with him, I created this card.

Using the Cookie Cutter Halloween set, I thought this cute little mummy also resembled a bandaged patient that needs a little TLC. The words are from the Here For You set which I thought was perfect for the message I was trying to get across.

I also thought I would share with you the inside of the card where I highlighted the use of the Weather Together set. So many of our sets work so well together. Happy Stamping!

Getting My "Spook" On

Last weekend I had my two stamping events and all the projects created were Halloween/Fall inspired. This week Jack helped me to get out all our Halloween/Fall decorations and put them up around the house. So in a nutshell, I've got Halloween on the brain!

I was so giddy when I saw all the Halloween sets in the holiday catalog that I ended up getting four different ones! Ha! One can never have too many Halloween sets, right? This cute little mummy jar from the Jar of Haunts set is the perfect focal point for this week's sketch challenge at Create With Connie and Mary.  Add in the pumpkin faces, spiderweb, spider and greeting from the Spooky Fun set and you've got yourself a fun Halloween card! In all honesty, all our Halloween sets go so well together! They are all interchangeable that you can't help but use a little from this one and a little from that one, etc. Thanks for stopping by today and getting your dose of Halloween in. It will be here before you know it! Happy Stamping!

Sweet As Honey

It's supposed to be about a 10-12 degree difference from yesterday to today. Ah yes, Mother Nature is a force to be reckoned with. I will held up in my stamp room all day trying to feverishly finish getting 121 total projects cut, prepped and ready for this weekend's two big stamping events. Yep, for one project alone I had to cut and die cut 270 pieces of card stock. Gulp! I see a new blade (or two) being put on my paper trimmer before it's all said and done! Wish me luck!

Today's color challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary had me whipping out the fun Bear Hugs stamp set. I chose to stamp the honey pot on a diagonal (yes, I eyeballed all of them) for a fun background. Mr. Bear is sporting his Emerald Envy green bow tie. Doesn't he look dapper? The Delightful Dijon circle behind him is sponged with Delightful Dijon ink to give it a slightly different shade. After stamping the saying I hand cut it out and made it into a picket sign. A little hard to see, but I also wrapped three strands of Linen Thread around the background. Then using my Paper Piercer, I pulled the strands all apart until it looked like a fluff. Love the different texture it gives the card. I hope you will join us this week and play along. Happy Stamping!

One Tree Hill

Happy Thursday my stamping peeps! It's been a pretty busy week here. I seriously thought I would have more time to accomplish things when Jack went back to school, but it's been three weeks already and I seem to have even less! How does that happen?!? I'm gearing up for a couple big stamping events, so I've been gravitating using more of the wonderful new things in the holiday catalog. I am in LOVE with so many things!

This week's sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary lent itself nicely to a spooky Halloween card. The Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies are great on their own or with the coordinating set, Spooky Fun. I chose to use both, but focused more on the dies. Colors I  used were Basic Grey, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Basic Black and Sahara Sand. We'd love for you to share your creativity with us! What does this sketch say to you? Happy Stamping!

Creation Station Blog Hop - Basket of Wishes

Welcome my stamping, blog hopping friends! September has arrived and that means that fall will soon be underway. This month's Creation Station Blog Hop was to highlight some new items in the Holiday Catalog. I chose one of my favorite new sets, Basket of Wishes. You can use this set for any season really, but I chose to go with fall (my FAVORITE season of all!).

This two-step, photopolymer basket set makes it so easy to fill each of the different baskets with different contents. I chose the bushel basket and filled it with pumpkins, squash and gourds.  Our Stampin' Write Markers make quick of work of adding color to the image. The words, both for the background and main quote are included in this set. I simply omitted a couple of the words from the main quote as I wanted the "happy birthday" to be on the inside of the card instead.

I also made a fun little gift bag using one of our Kraft Bags, I started off my stamping some leaves from the Vintage Leaves set in Crumb Cake ink along the left hand side to mimic the the same type of background used on the card. Then I created a belly band out of Always Artichoke card stock and secured that down. This time I chose to use the wicker basket and fill it with sunflowers - the perfect fall flower! I added one die cut leaf that was sponged with Crushed Curry ink and stamped with Crumb Cake speckles from the Gorgeous Grunge set. Add a quick greeting and some sequins. Voila!

Together they make for a sweet fall ensemble. Depending on where you started on this fabulous hop, you can either go back and see what Kathy created or move along to Holly. Both are great stampers! Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!

Minecraft Madness

Jack is a very excited boy today! He is going to his very first classmate's birthday party! He brought the invitation home from school a few days back and said, "Mom, Camden's having a birthday party at the pool. Can I please, please, please go?" How could this mom say 'no' to the puppy dog face he was giving me? The invitation was a Minecraft one so I knew right away that's what I was going to be making. Let me introduce you to the Creeper. He's made up of 1/2" squares of Garden Green, Pear Pizazz, Sahara Sand, Always Artichoke and Basic Black card stock. After they were all adhered down I applied a pretty generous layer of Crystal Effects. I know we longer sell it, but I still have a few bottles and this helped to 'seal' down all the little corners of each of the squares. It's pretty neat to see in person. I also personalized the card front by using the Little Letters thinlets that are also retired (which will forever stay in my 'keep no matter what' pile) as they are the perfect small size for jobs like this.

I wanted to show you the inside of the card (not to necessarily point out the retired greeting I used *wink wink*), but to show you how I used some of the extra squares I had left over. Jack thought I did a good job. He gave me two thumbs up! Happy Stamping!

One Little Mummy

Happy September my stamping friends! I was excited to see this color combination at Create with Connie and Mary this week. Something about them just screamed "fall" to me. Not necessarily the traditional fall colors, but more of the new 'trendy' ones. I knew immediately that I was going to use the fun new stamp set, Cookie Cutter Halloween. I love, love, love this set!

I decided to focus on this fun little trick-or-treating mummy. I used the Sahara Sand Stampin' Write Marker to highlight his bandages. I also added in the spiderweb and greeting from the Spooky Fun set, and the pennants from the Sweet Home set to make this card more whimsical. This would also make for a wonderful costume party invitation too, don't you think? I encourage you to play along with us this week. What do these colors say to you? Happy Stamping!
