Halloween and the Great Pumpkin!

This week has been a busy one. On Tuesday I was a chaperone for Jack's field trip to the Smithsonian National Zoo in D.C.. The weather was nice, the bus ride a little long due to the traffic, but he really enjoyed himself and so did his friend Jordan that hung with us for the day. I should have worn my pedometer, as it was a lot of walking! But it was good for the body, so I shouldn't complain right? Today it was back to work as usual. This week's color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary made me instantly think of Halloween. Since it's right around the corner I thought I would share with you one more project for it.

I created this fun background highlighting all three colors by using the stamp from the Spooky Fun set. Thank goodness for photopolymer, it was cinch to line each one up and stamp it! The jar and pumpkin are from the Jar of Haunts set and I actually used a dauber to apply the color to both. I thought it gave them a more softer appearance than had I used our markers. A quick little picket sign, and it gives the appearance of the Great Pumpkin Patch from the Charlie Brown movie.

Here's the inside of the card as the stamping continued in there as well. I really have loved the Halloween stamp sets this year. I bought way too many of them, but they have been used and put to good use! It will be Thanksgiving and Christmas projects soon enough. Thanks for stopping by today! We would love for you to play along with the color challenge this week! Happy Stamping!

Chilling...Penguin Style

It's been a heat wave these past few days with temperatures in the 80's. I'm not used to such warmth so close to Halloween. I like a nice, crisp fall day. With the heat, I thought I would go the opposite way in my card this week and bring on some chill!

This cute little penguin from the Snow Buddies set was anxious to get inked up and get all dolled up in his fuzzy scarf! I chose Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie colors on this whimsical card. Snowflakes stamped in Real Red ink and punched out with different size circle punches are a nice highlight to the more muted Bermuda Bay snowflakes in the background. Three well placed rhinestones add just the perfect amount of sparkle. What a great sketch this week at Create with Connie and Mary! Check out all the other fabulous ideas from the rest of the design team and then share your own.  Happy Stamping!

Vintage Friendship

Hello stamping friends! Please forgive me as this post is going to be rather short today. I'm a bit under the weather. I've got the chills, no appetite, my ear is aching and I find it hard to stay awake for more than ten minutes. Blah! Hoping I can shake this soon!

I thought I would throw in a "vintage" type feel with today's color challenge at Create With Connie and Mary. I cut 1" squares of the three colors and adhered them onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. I then sponged Crumb Cake slightly all over to "dull" the colors a bit. I adhered that onto a piece of Early Espresso card stock and wrapped some Whisper White Baker's Twine around it before tying a bow and then adhering that onto a Whisper White card stock base. I chose this wonderful greeting from the Friendly Wishes set along with the little flower from the Live, Love, Grow set as the main focal point. First time I inked up that set since getting it! I also sponged Crumb Cake ink on this piece too and attached dimensionals on the back to raise it up. Happy Stamping!

Birthday Bear

Happy Thursday! It's been a busy week here, but I squeezed in a little stamping room revamp over a few late nights. I am a 'stander' when it comes to stamping. I like to be able to move around and grab things here or there to use on my projects. I have been having to bend over my desk for the past 11 years and well, my back said, "Girl, I've had enough!" So.... I took a 6 x 6 x 6" wood post and cut it into four pieces and covered each one in the carpet that is currently in the room. I was lucky to find a small remnant at the store that was the same carpet I put in there years ago! Lucky find! So I took everything out of and off of the desk and put the "risers" into place then last night I finished putting everything back. Whew! It was big job but now it's at counter height and I can't wait to be able to create for hours and not have my back hurt! Woo Hoo! Simple pleasures is all it takes sometimes!

I really liked this week's sketch challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. I love this little bear from the Bear Hugs stamp set and thought he would be cute holding a single birthday balloon. Using the Balloon Celebration set,  I added a few sprinkles on the lower part of the balloon and then stars around him to really make him stand out. I also stamped the dotted circle from that set on the Real Red card stock below to add some visual interest.

Here's the inside of the card. I carried the stars into here as well to tie it all together. We'd love for you to play along too with this sketch challenge! Happy Stamping!

All About The Pink!

Welcome my stamping friends! I am excited to take part in this Ultimate Pink Blog Hop today! What is it you may be wondering? It's a collection of ideas from fabulous and creative Stampin' Up! demonstrators all over the globe featuring shades of pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As some of you know, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer years ago. Through the power of prayer and medicine, she is still going strong today and living a happy, healthy life!

In honor of her and her love of flowers (she grows AMAZING ones by the way!), I thought the Detailed Florals Thinlet would be the perfect choice! I die cut first in Basic Black then mounted that onto a piece of Melon Mambo. I then cut one more out of Pink Pirouette and one out of Old Olive and paper pieced those two colors onto the die cut black one to create a colorful bouquet of flowers. The greeting is from our Rose Wonder stamp set and seemed appropriate for this special occasion card. To finish it off, I added a couple punched butterflies with pearls and a 5/8" Organza Ribbon before mounting it all on a Whisper White card stock base. Thank you so much for stopping by today! Cancer affects so many wonderful people and families. I hope you continue on to see the other fabulous creations by this wonderful group of stampers listed below. May you be filled with pink inspiration! Happy Stamping!

Creation Station Blog Hop - Double Duty Dies

Happy Fall my stamping friends! I was rather excited to hear about this month's blog hop theme - showcasing different ways to use our framelits and thinlets! I LOVE being able to show my customers the versatility of our products! I am all about getting more bang for your buck! {I have to admit, I got that trait from my mom. She can find good deals everywhere!} I know it's fall, but I couldn't help but share two Christmas ideas with you today.

Not sure about you, but I love a good shaker card! I used the hostess set, Time of Year for all the stamping done on this card. It's a GREAT set to have in your arsenal!  To create the shaker part I used the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits to die cut the opening. Add a piece of Window Sheet behind it and then lined it with our new Foam Adhesive Strips (Where have these been all my life?!). Before adhering it down on the stamped piece of Whisper White card stock, I added a small handful of our Metallics Sequin Assortment. To take it over the top, I added a string of Christmas lights hanging from our new Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine. Are you wondering to yourself, "'d she make the lights?" Well, look no further!

I used the small thinlet from the Pyramid Pals Thinlets! (The red arrow is pointing to it above.) Pretty neat right? Yep, it's supposed to be used for ears, but I saw lights!

Then I had the stamped insert piece from the card above left over and knew I needed to give that a purpose somehow. So I created this fun gift tag! Using White Embossing Powder and my trusty Heat Gun, I embossed the greeting from the Watercolor Words. I envisioned a large piece of candy to really make it stand out so this is my version of a classic peppermint! I created this sweet treat using a circle from the Layering Circles Framelits, diecutting one in Real Red and a second in Whisper White. I cut apart the white one into swirly shapes and adhered the four pieces onto the red circle. Any thoughts on how I created the twisty ends off the sides?

Why, with the help of a bear! The Bear Hugs Framelits that is! I used the skirt die as indicated above with the arrow to create the fun ends. I die cut four skirts, two in Real Red and two in Whisper White card stock then layered them together. To finish off the tag I used our 1/8" Gold Ribbon and added a bow and extra piece of length to be tied onto your present.

Oh my! I was having too much fun creating these two projects for our hop this month! I hope you will continue on to see what creativity the rest of the gang has to share with you. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!
