Birthday Bear

Happy Thursday! It's been a busy week here, but I squeezed in a little stamping room revamp over a few late nights. I am a 'stander' when it comes to stamping. I like to be able to move around and grab things here or there to use on my projects. I have been having to bend over my desk for the past 11 years and well, my back said, "Girl, I've had enough!" So.... I took a 6 x 6 x 6" wood post and cut it into four pieces and covered each one in the carpet that is currently in the room. I was lucky to find a small remnant at the store that was the same carpet I put in there years ago! Lucky find! So I took everything out of and off of the desk and put the "risers" into place then last night I finished putting everything back. Whew! It was big job but now it's at counter height and I can't wait to be able to create for hours and not have my back hurt! Woo Hoo! Simple pleasures is all it takes sometimes!

I really liked this week's sketch challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. I love this little bear from the Bear Hugs stamp set and thought he would be cute holding a single birthday balloon. Using the Balloon Celebration set,  I added a few sprinkles on the lower part of the balloon and then stars around him to really make him stand out. I also stamped the dotted circle from that set on the Real Red card stock below to add some visual interest.

Here's the inside of the card. I carried the stars into here as well to tie it all together. We'd love for you to play along too with this sketch challenge! Happy Stamping!

  2. I like that you completely stuck to stamping and didn't use one scrap of DSP! The bear is so cute holding the little balloon. And, the inside is just as cute as the outside of the card! Wonderful job with the sketch this week!

  6. Such a fun birthday card, love him holding the balloon! The best thing I did when I designed my studio was to raise my cutter and die-cut counters! Makes it SO much nicer! I still sit to stamp, but am up and down a lot!
