Happy Thanksgiving my dear stamping friends! I am spending the morning watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on tv with Jack. It's a tradition. If you were to ask Jack what we do on Thanksgiving he would tell you that we watch the parade and jump in the leaves. Because jumping in the leaves makes him happy. Boy, I love this kid!
When I saw this fabulous color challenge, I knew I was going to use as many fall elements as I could on my card. So I have acorns and leaves galore adorning it! Both sets of words and the acorns are from the Acorny Thank You stamp set. The large leaf is from Vintage Leaves and the small leaves in the background is a stamp in the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set. I know I added in a small sliver of Early Espresso card stock, but I couldn't help it. My card was calling for a 'pop' of a neutral color to tie it all together. I so enjoyed worked with Cherry Cobbler, Delightful Dijon and Crumb Cake this week! Hopefully you will too as we would love for you to share your creativity with us! Hop on over to Create with Connie and Mary and check out what all the other designers were inspired to create with them. Happy Stamping!

When I saw the sketch challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary, I told myself that I needed to use colors I hadn't used in a while. When I was staring at my glorious, colorful ink pads I decided that I would choose two and that they had to be of the same color tones. Hence, I decided to feel a little "purple-y" today!
I decided upon Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum as the main colors and Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Basic Black to compliment them. The balloon and greeting are from from the Celebrate Today set. The swirls are from Swirly Bird, the splatter is from Gorgeous Grunge and the stars are from Perpetual Birthday Calendar. Yes, quite a few sets went into the making of this card. I couldn't help myself! I added a strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper to break up the different hues of color and add a bit of sparkle. What a playful card it turned out to be! I encourage you to play along and to create a project with colors that you haven't used in a while. You might just be surprised of the outcome! Happy Stamping!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, this month's blog hop is appropriately themed, "Giving Thanks". There are so many things in this life I could write down and share with you that I am truly grateful for, but I will save that for another day. Instead I will share with you what I call my "Thankful Tree".
I love trees! I am enthralled by them in home decor items, jewelry, etc. They symbolize so many wonderful things. I especially love them in the fall. Fall is MY season! The colors (yes, my favorite color truly is Chocolate Chip Brown); the weather (oh how I love the slight crispness in the air); the smells (I can't get enough of wood burning furnaces). This time of year is so ME!
I had an idea in my head about how to turn the tree from the Halloween Scene Thinlets into more than just a spooky tree. I knew it had great potential to show off it's more lively, colorful, fall self! I die cut it using Chocolate Chip card stock and Olive Green card stock. I then took the Tree Builder Punch and punched to my little heart's content of leaves out of Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake and Olive card stock. One by one I adhered them onto the branches of the tree and on the ground. I added a splatter from the Gorgeous Grunge set in the background to give it more life and interest. The saying from the Basket of Wishes set was perfect for this month's theme! How could I not use it, right? I was having too much fun creating this idea in my head onto card stock. I hope you will continue on to see what creativity the rest of the gang has to share with you. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!

I just have to say that I am still sleep deprived from Tuesday's election. Anybody else? I fell asleep about 11:30 PM then awoke around 2:20 AM and stayed up to 4:00 AM to actually see who was declared the new President elect. Fell back to sleep until 6:00 AM of which I then got Jack up and ready for school and I went to work. My clock is so off right now, it isn't even funny. I need a day to recooperate!
I fully admit, I had to cheat a little with this week's color challenge. I didn't have anything copper left in my arsenal! I know right?! But I looked high and low and nothing could be found. So I used what I thought would be the closest color, Soft Suede. I inked up and stamped off once before stamping the bear from the Cookie Cutter Christmas set. I dressed him up with a scarf and hat from the Jolly Friends set. Love how these two are interchangeable! The greeting is from Basket of Wishes stamp set which I stamped once and then cut apart to give it a different look.
The scarf and hat were stamped with the Night of Navy ink then I sponged the same ink on them to give it a little more dimension. I added Wink of Stella to the hat's white brim and pom pom and also to the lines of the scarf. Thanks for stopping by today! We'd love for you to share your creativity with us this week at Create with Connie and Mary! Happy Stamping!

Today we're traveling from the warm tropical island of yesterday's card I shared with you to the bitter cold of the North Pole! I was inspired to use the new Letters For You set I had recently gotten when I saw this week's sketch challenge.
The slightly worn look of the letters reminds of a slightly old-fashioned classic Christmas. What's more classic that Frosty's hat and snowflakes from the Snow Place set along with punched holly leaves and berries from the Holly Berry Happiness set? I seriously had to stop myself from continuing to add more to this card. I wanted to dress up all the letters, one with earmuffs and another with a scarf.....but I refrained myself and kept it more simple and classic. Thanks for stopping by today, please make sure to hop on over to Create with Connie and Mary and check out all the other fabulous designers' ideas using this sketch and then share your own! Happy Stamping!

Stamping is a lot like baking. For example, today's recipe calls for: One dear friend who is celebrating a birthday. Add in her love of the beach and a pinch of shimmer. Voila! The result is this birthday card just for her! For the background I took a piece of our Shimmery White card stock and with Marina Mist ink and an Aquapainter, I watercolored the ocean water. For the sand, I tore a strip of Crumb Cake card stock and stamped it with the splatter from our Gorgeous Grunge set in Crumb Cake ink. The fish, seashells and words are all found in the Seaside Shore stamp set. (It truly is a really fun set!) To create the coral, I die cut two tree tops from the fabulous Thoughtful Branches bundle that was available a little while back. A little hard to tell, but the fish and shells had a shimmer on them thanks to our awesome Wink of Stella! LOVE that stuff!! Happy baking! Oh, I mean, Happy Stamping!
