Special Butterfly

Time for another fun challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary this week! This time it's a color challenge that includes -

The colors instantly drew me towards a masculine feeling for a card, but I told myself to not do the obvious. Instead I challenged myself to images and ideas not usually associated with this choice of color combination. So what did I do?

Florals and butterflies! Complete opposite of anything masculine that I originally thought of! I thought it would be fun to do a color block for the background. I used the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, What I Love for the Lost Lagoon flowers and the Sahara Sand greenery. I used the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Perfect Pairings for the Delightful Dijon "Hoorays". To soften the edges of the background, I added one of our fabulous Paper Doilies.

I die cut a butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlets and cut it in half. I sponged all 3 of our challenge colors on both halves and adhered them as if it was taking flight. Rhinestones helped to add to it's 'flight effect'. A little bling always makes things better, don't you think? Thanks for stopping by today! Please join us and play along with this fun challenge. Happy Stamping!

Happy Easter!

Sending Easter blessings to you, my stamping friends! Jack enjoyed waking up and finding that the Easter Bunny had hidden the eggs he had colored all over the house. Silly bunny! And he was even more excited to see the wonderful things that were left in his Easter basket. I love seeing the wonder and excitement in his eyes...oh, to be a kid again!

I thought I would share the special Easter treats Jack took to school for his teachers and bus driver.

I found these cute striped bags at a store on clearance a while back. I knew I'd do something with them sometime. How many of you do that? Pick something up because "you just know" it will come in handy someday. Ha! They were exactly what I needed so I dressed them up with a fun banner tag. The tag itself is a piece of Pool Party snipped at one end. The fun little bunny was made out of Crumb Cake card stock using our 1 3/8" Circle punch, 1 1/4" Circle punch and the small leaf from the Flower Fair Framelits. The framelits also helped to make it's Whisper White card stock fluffy tail. Add a piece of Pear Pizazz card stock snipped with the Fringe Scissors for a piece of grass. The two eggs are actually punched using the small balloon from the Balloon Bouquet punch. Too fun! The words are from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock that was punched twice with the Decorative Label punch.

What's inside the bag?

Chocolate of course! I found these Easter themed Kit Kat bars and carrot shaped chocolates at Target that fit just perfectly in the bag! Bunnies and carrots, they go hand in hand like Batman and Robin!

Here are all three bags before they were sent off. Jack said that they all loved them! Hope you are enjoying time with loved ones on this very special day. Happy Stamping!

My New Adventure!

Happy Thursday everyone! It's finally here, the day I share my awesome, incredible, wonderful and fabulous news with you! Can you tell, I'm just a wee bit excited?!?

I have been invited to become a member of the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge Design Team!! WOO HOO!! On Cloud 9 here!!

What does that mean? Every Thursday I will be posting a project that goes with that week's challenge posted over at the Create with Connie and Mary site, whether it be a color or sketch challenge in the hopes that it can inspire you in your own stamping. I am looking forward to this new adventure with this talented group of stampers!

Without further ado, here's my first official challenge on this Design Team. *squeal*

With Easter only a few days away and Sale-A-Bration coming to an end soon, I knew I had to use my little chick from the Honeycomb Happiness Sale-A-Bration stamp set one more time with this sketch challenge. I can't get enough of this sweet little guy.

This time he's hatching out of his egg. In other words, our Wide Oval Punch punch makes the perfect egg! Paper Snips worked great giving it the cracked edge all the way across. Happen to notice anything in the background? Perhaps something subtle.

I die cut two of the roses with leaves from the Rose Garden Thinlets in Whisper White card stock and adhered pieces of them onto another piece of Whisper White card stock to give it some visual interest.

Thanks for stopping by today and embarking upon this new journey with me! Make sure you check out the rest of the design team's cards for this great sketch challenge. There's oodles of talent to share with you! Make sure you play along too! I would love to see what this sketch inspires you to create. Happy Stamping!

Thank You Letters

Happy Sunday! Well, we didn't get any of the snow they predicted (which I am totally fine with). It did snow a bit yesterday but nothing stuck to the ground. I had made and sent this thank you card a while ago and forgot to share it with you. Silly me! I used the Lovely Amazing You photopolymer set for the envelopes and words. The splatter is from Gorgeous Grunge, my favorite sidekick stamp set. It's my Robin to Batman. LOL! It basically has a permanent spot on my desk. I used some fun springy ink colors: Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizazz, So Safron, Pool Party and Basic Black. And for a 'pop' of bold color, a Calypso Coral punched small heart with a Baker's Twine Bow finishes it off. Fun and easy, love cards like that! Happy Stamping!

"I See Leprechauns!"

Happy St. Patrick's Day! May your day be touched with a bit of Irish luck. It was only fitting that I share with you the little leprechauns that Jack is taking to school today. One is for his bus driver and two are for his teachers. Lots of punches and framelits went into the making of this fun treat. The box itself is the Fry Box Bigz Die. It's a super fun and versatile die! It can be 'dressed' up into anything really!

Here he is without his bag of Hershey gold nuggets. Cute right?

Here's what went into the making of this sweet little guy -

Hat - 2 1/2" Circle Punch & Wide Oval Punch
Hair - Wonderful Wreath Framelit and Bird Builder Punch for his bangs
Head - 2" Circle Punch
Eyes - Sweetheart Punch & 1/2" Circle Punch
Nose - 1/2" Circle Punch
Mustache - Mustache Framelit (retired)
Mouth - 1/2" Circle Punch

And here's all 3 of them ready to be given. Since tomorrow is the last day before spring break (they are off for 10 days!), they will be receiving their Easter treat tomorrow. Treats two days in a row, one could only be so lucky! Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Cheyann!

Thought I would share this fun birthday card I made for my niece. Happy birthday Cheyann! I've seen some cute shaker cards lately and was inspired to make my own. I'm loving all the fun and colorful patterned paper in the It's My Party Designer Series Paper pack. From candles to balloons, to dots, to stripes, to stars, to confetti, this pack of DSP offers so many fun options to add some pizazz to your stamped projects! The words and number are part of the Number of Years bundle. This is a must have in my opinion. It's just a classic bundle of stamps and framelit dies that offer so much versatility.

Cheyann with have fun shaking all the fun stars that were made using the Confetti Stars punch. Like the balloons, they were punched out of Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Mint Macaron card stock to coordinate with all the fun candles. Happy Stamping!

Color Challenge 23

Happy Wednesday! I was in the mood to do a little creating before Jack got home from school yesterday so I decided to hop on over to Create with Connie & Mary and check out their color challenge this week. I found it a little daunting at first but as I was looking over my stamp sets, inspiration struck! I envisioned giant leaves in a land of dinosaurs! Crazy I know!?! But sometimes you just need to follow where your inspiration takes you.

In the end this is where my idea took me. The stamped and die cut Hello Honey leaves are from the Botanical Blooms bundle that is in the current Occasions catalog. {I LOVE the number of framelits that are included in the bundle. So many choices!} The smaller leaf, dots, words and dinosaur are from the No Bones About It set. This is a really fun set and am thinking about doing a class highlighting it. It's just too cute not too! I wanted to keep the concept clean and simple with my layers. Love how it all turned out! Happy Stamping!

Creation Station Blog Hop - Time to Celebrate!

Hello stampers! I find it so hard to believe that Easter is only a few weeks away! March and April are super busy months in terms of birthdays for my family so when the theme of birthdays was chosen for this month I was one happy camper (I mean stamper)!

This card was made for my nephew Cody. He is a super awesome kid so bold colors was the way to go! A few stamp sets went into the making of this super cute card. The clouds are from the Balloon Celebration set and embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. "Happy Day" stamped on the punched balloons is from the Sale-A-Bration set, Perfect Pairings. The main words (yes, I hand cut those out in the arch shape) and die cut numbers are part of Number of Years Bundle

The Balloon Bouquet punch is a MUST in any stampers stash! It makes two perfect size balloons amongst other things if you stretch your mind. *wink wink* I can't divulge those other 'things' right now as those ideas are being used in upcoming classes.

What goes along with the super cute card? Why a coordinating box to hold the gift! This box was easy to make. Take a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" card stock and score it on the long side at 2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2" and 10". Then score 2 1/2" on the short side. For the lid, take a 5" square piece of card stock and score at 1 1/4" on all four sides. Once all is scored, it will become clear as to where to cut (think flaps) and adhere for the box to come together.

I not only coordinated the bold colored punched balloons all the way around the sides of the box (I used my Signo White Gel Pen and freehanded all the balloon strings), but I also incorporated the "Happy Day" all around the lid to tie it all together!

I hope you enjoyed both projects today. I am over the moon excited having you stop by! Depending on where you started on our hop you can either go back and see what creative genius Dena has for you (she's a rock star!) or you can move along to see what ridiculously awesome stamping skills Kathy (she's pretty awesome too!) has to share with you today. Happy Stamping!

What Could These Be?

Working on some cute little things for my Downline Team gathering this coming week. Whatever could these be? Hmmm.....any guesses?
