Happiness With Holly

Brrr! It's cold and windy today! Today's sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary got me in the mood for  Christmas. After all, it is only 10 days away and I am still shopping, working on some handmade things and I have yet to wrap anything!

I love our Holly Berry Happiness stamp set. The only stamp I hadn't used in it yet was the one that looks like a branch of holly leaves. So today I told myself I had to use it! With the help of the smallest jar from the Jar of Love set filled with a little Soft Sky Water, I created a little holly bouquet. I stamped and hand cut two of the branches and to put in the jar along with three sets of berries that I stamped and punched out. It was easy to color the holly leaves as the smaller single leaf stamp in that set is the perfect size to do so! The Real Red lines is a stamp from the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set that I stamped multiple times to achieve the longer length. Happy Stamping!

Fuzzy Mittens

Happy Thursday my stamping peeps! The color challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary this week inspired me to bring a softer side to the holiday season. I love the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set and thought it would be fun to highlight a couple of the stamps in it.

The tree and mitten are classic winter stamps and stamped in rows make for a fun background. I stamped and cut out two additional mittens then attached a piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine to them to simulate an old fashioned pair of mittens that most of us grew up with. In the center of each mitten is a small pearl to give them even a little more character. The greeting is from the Wondrous Wreath set. Our fabulous Silver Glimmer Paper adds just the right touch of pizazz to the softer Sweet Sugarplum and Soft Sky colors. Happy Stamping!

Oh, Gingerbread Boy!

Welcome to December! Hard to believe that we are nearing the end of another year. Time seems to go by so quickly! I, like many of you I am sure, have dove into Christmas decorating, music and shopping. In fact, yesterday I went up to Harrisburg, PA to the Pennsylvania Christmas & Gift Show. Literally hundreds of booths set up and filled with glorious things to purchase. Talk about eye candy! It takes hours upon hours to walk through it all. Let's just say I walked off my lunch before I even ate it!

When I saw this week's sketch challenge I knew immediately I wanted to do a shaker card! I carefully cut out a small house from the Candy Cane Lane DSP and mounted it onto a square of confetti DSP from the same pack. I then added a small strip of Whisper White card stock and hand cut  a snowbank for the house to sit in. I added a few little Christmas cookie sprinkles and then topped it off with a Real Red scallop frame I created using our fabulous Layering Squares Framelits backed with a piece of Window Sheet. It's cute to see the sprinkles shaking around the little gingerbread house.  I used the Candy Cane Christmas set for the words and candy canes. My cute gingerbread boy is from the Cookie Cutter Christmas set. Don't both sets work so well together? Love it! We hope you'll play along with us this week at Create with Connie and Mary. Don't forget to stop by and see what the rest of the Design Team created. Happy Stamping!
