Yesterday was Jack's seventh birthday. He was super excited when he got home from school to find presents all wrapped up and ready to be opened. He asked for three specific things and yes, he did get those and a couple other things. It makes this mommy's heart happy to see him happy. He truly is the bestest kid a mom could ever ask for! In lieu of his big day, the image of the deer from the In The Meadow stamp set seemed appropriate for this week's sketch challenge.
I am sad that this set is retiring, but it will remain in my permanent arsenal. I stamped the deer first then masked them off, and stamped the tree behind them. I also embossed the piece of Wild Wasabi card stock with the Falling Petals Embossing Folder. I think the petals resemble hearts in a way so it helps to mimic the love between the two deer. Don't forget to stop over at Create with Connie and Mary to see the other designers' fabulous ideas with this sketch. Happy Stamping!

Well, we are back in the swing of things after Jack's ten day spring break. So far so good. Next week will be a chaos at it's finest....niece's birthday party on Sunday, plus the usual work for me, two field trips for his class, class pictures, and his birthday! Yep, my little guy is turning 7! Heavens! Time has gone so fast! His party will be in a couple weeks, since I will need that time to plan and create. Yep, I create the invitations and the decorations all revolved around what theme he picks. And of course, there's the cleaning of the house and cooking of the food that needs to happen as well. But first, I have to finish up his birthday shopping. *wink wink*
In the spirit of birthdays, I thought the color challenge this week was perfect to highlight a friend's birthday. I got some new toys to play with that will be appearing in the upcoming new catalog. Woo Hoo! The saying is from Lovely Friends....this set has so many wonderful sayings, you will LOVE it! The balloons, present and party hat are part of a new set called Birthday Delivery. Again, a super cute set! And both are part of bundles that will knock your socks off! Oh, how I LOVE new toys! Don't forget to check out the other designer's ideas at Create with Connie and Mary. Happy Stamping!

I am still on Cloud 9 from Stampin' Up's OnStage event that was held on Saturday. Two of my fabulous downline friends and I made the trek to Richmond, Virginia for it. I am excited for the new upcoming catalog! My wish list is a mile long already! And the free stuff we all came home with was FABULOUS! Plus, spending time with these two gals, there was bound to be lots of laughs, stamping, and little sleep to go with it all.
This is also Jack's spring break, so he is helping me hold down the fort this busy week. Besides work, I have to get Jack a haircut sometime, he needs new shoes for school and everyday, he wants to visit the Easter Bunny, * tomorrow is my birthday! Woo Hoo! *, on Saturday we are hosting an Easter Egg Hunt and brunch for the family (Jack did help me fill 160 eggs), and I have to help the bunny finish his shopping this week for Sunday. Oh how I wish I was Samantha off Bewitched that I could just wiggle my nose and get things done. Guess it's not a 'break' for me this week! Ha!
With Easter on the brain this week, the sketch at Create with Connie and Mary instantly had me thinking about bunnies and baskets. I decided to use the Basket Bunch bundle to create a thank you card for a friend. Even though it is an "Easter-ish" set, I think it could be used for so much more! This little chick decided to bring her friend, rabbit a basket of carrots as a thank you. How sweet, right? The coordinating framelits in the bundle, make quick work of all the cutting. I decided to also emboss the Soft Sky card stock with the Falling Petals Embossing Folder to add a touch of dimension. I hope you and your family have a very blessed Easter! Happy Stamping!

Hello stamping friends! With such a busy week, today's card was focused around clean, simple and quick! I adore these three colors together.
I decided to dust off the No Bones About It stamp set and create a birthday card suitable for any kid. I thought it would be fun to have the dinosaur all ready to celebrate by wearing his party hat and have balloons tied to his tail. Check out all the other fabulous creations using this trio of colors at Create with Connie and Mary. Happy Stamping!

Happy Sunday my stamping friends! Yesterday we took Jack and his cousins for their first train ride through the mountains. They were calling it the Easter Express since the Easter Bunny came along too and half way through the train stopped and and everyone got off for the kids to do an egg hunt. All the kids the enjoyed it, young and old. Mark that off the bucket list....ride a train....check!
Today's bog hop has so many possibilities with its theme. I opted to gear more towards the nature side of it and highlight a stamp set I hadn't used a while.
Live, Love, Grow is a wonderful set that! I paired it with the Sunburst Thinlets Die that helps to make all the images and springy colors really 'pop' off the card. It's a little hard to tell, but I added Wink of Stella over the entire "glass" part of the dome. In real life, you should see it sparkle! Make sure you continue hopping along to see all the other fabulous works of art this month. Happy Stamping!
