With all the time Jack's been spending in the pool these past few weeks (I swear he has to be part fish), I was inspired to get out the Seaside Shore stamp set and ink it up. It goes perfect with this week's Create with Connie and Mary challenge!
I picked the layout in the lower right corner to mimic. I chose Dapper Denim, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, and Crumb Cake card stocks to create my fishy scene. For the inks, I went with Dapper Denim,Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Emerald Envy and Soft Suede to bring all those pieces of card stock to life. A lot of the elements required a little fussy cutting, but the person this card is heading to is SO worth it! *smiles* Have a safe and happy Fourth of July everyone! Happy Stamping!

We are full swing into the third week of swim lessons. Jack passed his level last session (they last 2 weeks) and asked if he could try the next level, so I signed him up. He has become such a fish this summer! So proud of my little man! I was inspired by the colors in the piece of Naturally Eclectic DSP that was on the challenge card. I took my cue off of that and created this -
I love the new Crafting Forever and Wood Words stamp sets. From Wood Words, I stamped the floral image in Soft Sky ink all over for the background and the stars in Versamark across the Emerald Envy card stock. The clothespins each contain a strand of baker's twine in Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Peekaboo Peach. Behind the stamped piece of Whisper White is a layer of Soft Sky and then a base of Night of Navy that I think helps to anchor the rainbow of colors used on the card. What a fun challenge this week! We'd love for you to play along and share your creativity over at Create with Connie and Mary. Happy Stamping!

It's been a heatwave here this week, over 90+ the past few days. I'm sunburned. Jack is sunburned. Between all the outside work like mowing (which takes me about 4 1/2 hours), weeding, some chores, and sitting in the sun during Jack's swim lessons, we are both looking like tomatoes this week. Even when sunscreen has been applied! It's supposed to get into the 80's soon, yeah!
For this week's challenge I took a cue from the layout and tweeked it slightly. Instead of turning the card stock on angles, I kept them squared. I also moved the words to other side since it fit better there with my image. Isn't that a cute bunny? I hand cut her out of a piece of the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper and popped her up on dimensionals. The stripes piece of DSP is what is on the other side of that same piece. Love dual sided paper! I stamped the party hats on the piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and the greeting on Whisper White card stock from the coordinating set called Birthday Delivery. It's a WONDERFUL bundle to have in your stamping collection! Happy Stamping!

Welcome to another busy week here! Jack is full swing into swim lessons. This is the first year that he is fully excited and can't wait for them everyday. So thankful for that. This week we are also helping my brother-in-law and his wife move into their first house. They live in a third floor walk up about 35 minutes away and now they will only be about 13 minutes away in their cape cod. Tuesday was the first big day of the move. A dent was made, but there is much more to go! Saturday will be a big day. We are happy for them and their pug, Franklin.
This week's challenge inspired me to pull out an "all in one" stamp set. By "all in one", I mean it's a set that contains words and the pictures to create a great card. In this case, Watercolor Words received the royal treatment and got inked up with some fun (and a couple new) colors! Dapper Denim, Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist make for a fun and whimsy floral card. Flowers come in all shape and colors right?
I did a little fussy cutting on the single flower and made it into three separate layers for visual interest. Each one is popped up on Dimensionals. I finished it off with a large Rhinestone in the center for a little sparkle. Thanks for stopping by! Check out all the other fabulous designers' creations with this challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. Happy Stamping!

Welcome stamping friends! This month's blog hop is suitably themed, "Something Old & Something New." Our new catalog has now gone live and these first few days are always a transition period for everyone. So it seems appropriate to highlight some things that will continue in our stamping arsenal alongside some fun, new items. This time of year is always busy and exciting, it really is Christmas for all of us stampers!
Spot the new stamp? It's the little sun from the set, Tabs For Everything. A fun set with words and tiny images that coordinate with the new Circle Tab punch. I thought it would make a great background on this cheery friendship card. I paired it with the hot air balloon die cut from the Up and Away Thinlet set and the wonderful saying from Layering Love. I was in the mood for a Daffodil Delight, Whisper White and Night of Navy creation. Such a classic combination, that you can't go wrong with.
Here's a close up of the background. I scored the large Whisper White card stock on an angle in different directions to create 3/4" diamond shapes. I then stamped the sun in each diamond. It was quick and easy but added great visual interest. I'm so happy you stopped by today. Have fun hopping along to see everyone else's fabulous creations using "Something Old & Something New"!

Welcome June! It's Jack's last day of First Grade today. I can't really have a Second Grader already can I? He is excited for summer to start, as am I. And it's also the launch of our new catalog! Woo Hoo! So many fun, new and exciting things to play with! When I saw the inspiration for this week's challenge I was over the moon excited! Not only was I inspired with the colors, I loosely based by creation on the layout as well. It's a "two-fer"!
When I saw the coffee themed card, I immediately thought of nuts. And what better ones than the acorns from our Acorny Thank You set that we had to say goodbye to today. It and it's coordinating punch will remain in my personal aresenal and thought it paired nicely with some new things out of the catalog that is live today. What better way to present a group of nuts than in a crate from the Wood Crate Framelits. It's just the cutest thing ever! I LOVE this new set of framelits! The tag was also die cut from this set as well, but the words are from the new set, Tabs For Everything. I like the small size of all the words and how you can create different sayings. I stamped the "Nuts About You" acorns to mimic the coffee beans from the inspiration card. Garden Green is typically one of my least used colors, but I absolutely LOVE it paired with the Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Whisper White and Crumb Cake. It's takes on a whole new personality! Happy Stamping!
