Happy Thursday stamping friends! Winter is still being quite stubborn in these parts. Yesterday it was in the 30's and windy. Saturday is supposed to be in the low 70's! That's how it's been for a while now. Within 24 hours you can have a 10-20 degree temperature change. Up. Down. It doesn't matter. Last week was Jack's first snow day of the school year! Yep, middle of March and we get our first measurable snow of 8 inches. And now a week later, the daffodils are up! So hard to plan on anything when the weather is so unpredictable!
In the hopes of spring coming soon, I thought this week's color challenge lended itself nicely to a springy floral card. The Thankful Life hostess stamp set did just the trick! To add a touch more softness, I die cut the larger of the two Detailed Floral Thinlets in Whisper White card stock and adhered it onto the So Saffron card base. Four large pearls adorn the corners to anchor the vase of flowers. Simple and sweet. You can never go wrong with a combination like that! Happy Stamping!

We had our first snow day of the school year this week. Jack was so excited to finally use his new sled that Santa had brought him! Of all the years to get a sled, and we don't get any snow until March! LOL This week's sketch challenge is a fun one! I encourage you to join in and play along on our Facebook page!
I knew instantly that I was going to use the Everyday Hero stamp set. I have used it before, but only with the girl superhero so today it was the guy's turn to shine. In this case I made it into a birthday card, but this would also make for a great Father's Day card too! This set and sketch is so versatile! I thought I would also use more non-traditional superhero colors. In this case, Tangerine Tango, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate and Basic Black. I think it turned out well! Make sure you hop on over to Create with Connie and Mary to see all the other designers' fabulous works of art. Happy Stamping!

Hello stamping friends! I was excited to work with these three colors this week. I knew I wanted to make a patchwork quilt background highlighting them. The square shaped Stitched Framelit works wonderfully for this technique!
After die cutting and adhering all the squares down onto a piece of Whisper White card stock, I turned my attention to the focal point. With the symmetrical straight lines of the squares, I opted to use a circle shaped Stitched Framelit to soften all the lines. The new set, High Tide was staring at me in the face whispering softly, "Ink me. Ink me." When a stamp set talks to you like, all you can do is listen. I stamped the water in Pool Party ink and the silhouettes of the birds wading in the water in Chocolate Chip ink. I love how you can manipulate our photopolymer stamps! In this case I used words from the Crazy About You set and arched them to mimic the circular shape. The banner across the bottom is from the hostess set, Time of Year and also helps to add softness and a bit of whimsy to the card. We would love to see what you create with these three colors. Hop on over to Create with Connie and Mary to see other ideas for inspiration and then share your own! Happy Stamping!

Hard to believe that March is here already. This year just started and already I feel like I'm behind! Between both parents being hospitalized (my mom is still in there), Jack's schooling, work, and my father-in-law taking a bad fall which I have been helping out until he can get back on his feet, no wonder I feel like that! So I gave myself a pep talk and decided to look ahead towards the upcoming holiday, Easter. We have the ever so cute and fabulous Basket Bunch bundle in the catalog that was just waiting to get inked up!
When I first got this bundle, I thought the basket would be so cute if it was 3D. Then when I found out this month's theme was boxes, baskets and bags, I knew I had to give my idea a whirl! I die cut two sets of baskets and then created a little box to sandwich between them to hold a treat.
When I was at Target earlier in the week, I found these cute little chocolate carrot candies in the seasonal section. They come in a small netted bag and you get about 10 or so for $1.00. Can't beat that price! I used the candy to create the measurements for the box, so it would fit nice and snug.
Then I thought to myself, what if I wanted to showcase a group of these carrots? So I created this cute little box to hold three of them in a row, kind of like a little garden. I created a cute little sign using the Layering Squares Framelits to mimic a garden stake and tucked it in behind the carrots.
Love that little chocolate bunny stamp and the little grass framelit in the bundle. The grass helps to add depth to my little creations. Too cute!
I hope you enjoyed my little Easter treats. I had so much fun creating them! I hope you will continue hopping along to see what the other fabulous designers created today. Baskets, Boxes and Bags, oh my! Happy Stamping!

This week my nephew celebrated his 17th birthday. Happy Birthday Ben! As a lover of tacos, I knew the food truck from the Tasty Trucks stamp set was perfect to use! The sketch this week at Create with Connie and Mary lended itself nicely for his birthday card.
I thought it would be fun to put one of the quotes from the stamp set on the two tabs in the upper left corner. It was easy to do with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. I decided to go with So Safron, Tangerine Tango, Bermuda Bay and Crumb Cake as my color choices. A fun card for a fun young man. Happy Stamping!
