Baked With Love

I'm in love. I thoroughly enjoy baking any and everything (and sharing it all with friends and family) so when the Apron of Love stamp set and framelits were introduced in the catalog, I knew I had to have them!

Highlighting this fabulous bundle along with the Picture Perfect Party DSP was super easy. I whipped this card up in 10 minutes flat. Woo hoo! I started with the apron's DSP and took all my color selections from that. A little bit of this and a little bit of that, voila! a fun and whimsy card for a friend. I hope you join us for this week's sketch challenge, we'd love to see your creativity in action! Happy Stamping!

Flowering Vine

After having strep and the flu for the past eight days, it feels good to start getting back to my old self again. I tell you, both really kicked my butt last week! I wouldn't wish that on anybody. With the cold weather outside, I decided a touch of spring was needed with this week's challenge.

This week's color choices lended themselves nicely to a flowering vine that's crawling up the side of my card. I decided to highlight some of our Sale-A-Bration items, Amazing You stamp set, Beautiful Peacock stamp set and Celebrate You Thinlets. Our leaf punch makes it quick and easy to create the vine. A sweet and simple card that would work for birthday, thank you or just thinking of you card. Happy Stamping!

Celebrating 500!

Can you believe it? Create with Connie and Mary is celebrating their 500th challenge! Woo hoo!! What an accomplishment! I am so proud of being a part of such a dynamic group of super talented stampers!

In honor of this occasion, I decided to ink up only one stamp set (Yep, that's it...only one.) I chose the Sale-A-Bration set, Beautiful Peacock. Isn't it fabulous? We had a peacock here on the farm for over a year. One day he just appeared and he stayed for over a year. We named him George. He was free to come and go as he pleased. Then one day he left as mysteriously as he had came. Boy, was he a sight to see when his feathers were all out!

I inked the body of our fabulous bird first in Bermuda Bay and then gently rolled the edges of it in Pacific Point to give it the traditional color variances that peacocks have. It's feathers were inked in Lemon Lime Twist. Don't all three of these colors make for a great color combination? All stamped on a stitched square layered onto a scalloped square. The small strip behind is a piece of Whisper White card stock that I stamped the tiny little 'burst' in all the colors to make for an interesting pattern. What really helps to set off the card and steps it up a bit in my opinion? I decided to free hand swirls out of rhinestones to mimic as if they are bursting out from behind our colorful bird. It's a little hard to tell, but I also added Wink of Stella to all the white spaces on the bird and feathers. It looks AWESOME in real life. Thanks so much for joining us as we celebrate our 500th challenge! Looking forward to the next 500! Happy Stamping!

Creation Station Blog Hop - Bird is the Word

Hello stamping friends! So glad the wind has died down finally here on the east coast. A few pieces of tin off the barn roofs, sticks galore on the ground, a couple of boards on the cattle bunk line shifted and broke, but otherwise we are lucky (knock on wood) that we never lost power and it wasn't much worse. Speaking of Mother Nature, today's blog hop is for the birds. Literally.  It was the perfect opportunity for me to ink up our Bird Banter stamp set.

Up first are two little birdies ready to party. I used the Sale-A-Bration Celebration Thinlets to help not only make a fun background but also part of the focal point as well. These birds also were perfect to let me get out our new Stampin' Blends and them a whirl. Love the softness that these new alcohol based markers add to our images.

And then this guy decided to celebrate all on his own! Using the masking technique, I created a bunch of balloons for this guy to deliver to his friend high up in the branches. Again I used various Stampin' Blends to give this scene color. I used a sponge, Soft Sky ink pad and a handcut cloud stencil to make the sky come alive. I even had fun offsetting the different layers to the left to spice it up a little.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my birds! Now hop along and see what creative genius Elizabeth has with hers. Happy Stamping!

Getting Fizzy

Such a sweet combination of colors this week. It made me think of candy and sugary things like those in Willy Wonka's world, so I decided to ink up the Bubble Over stamp set and create some fizzy drinks.  Remember the Fizzy Lifting drinks in the movie that Charlie and his grandpa drank? Oh, the memories....

I am so happy that this stamp set has a coordinating framelit set, it makes it so much easier to create individual bottles. I also used the "celebrate" stamp from the Sale-a-bration set, Amazing You to create a fun background. Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Stamping!
