Strawberry Summer

It's Jack's last week of school. Gulp! Second grade just flew by! This was the year that he finally had a teacher that he really liked and clicked with. Oh, how I wish she could just move along with him and teach him again next year. We all had a teacher like that right? One that just "worked" more than the others. I noticed his knowledge grow a lot this year, his behavior towards school become less of a struggle and his overall temperance about things improve. Oh Mrs. Lougheed, you will be missed!! Thank you for the taking the time to make each kid feel special and smart in their own way. We need more teachers like you in the world! This week is also the start of daily swim lessons at night. Last year he blossomed in the water and became part fish. I am hoping he continues to work on the different strokes and really enjoy the water.

With the ending of one thing and the start of something new, I thought I would use one of the fabulous new hostess sets, Springtime Stroll for this week's inspiration challenge. The strawberry plant reminds me of my mom. She always grew strawberries in her garden. We had sliced strawberries or strawberry pies all summer long. They tasted so fresh and sweet! Yum!!

Colors I used were Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Call Me Clover, and Smoky Slate. I used the Basket Weave embossing folder to add texture to the piece of Real Read card stock. To create the tag, I used the Everyday Label Punch and then trimmed it down along the top and bottom using my Paper Snips. It's held on with the Whisper White Baker's Twine that I wrapped around the Crumb Cake card stock a couple times then punched a hole in each end of the tag threading the ribbon through and tying a bow. Happy Stamping!
