Creation Station Blog Hop - Artistic Expression

Hi Stampers, I'm back! With mom's passing, I needed to take some time off and focus on family and grieving. The hardest part is not picking up the phone to call her. We would talk every other day. Breaking this cycle has been hard to deal with as I am still wanting to do it. While it will never fully sink in I don't think, I am in a better place now than I was two months ago. Thank you to each of the lovely and wonderful ladies in this group who sent kind words and let me take as much time as I needed. Hugs to each of you....

This month's blog hop theme is "Abstract Expression". What does that mean exactly? We can use any stamp set from pages 126-179 in the catalog! So many to choose from but I thought I would highlight one of my "new favorites", Abstract Impressions. I stamped the two step flowers and stems on a piece of Whisper White card stock with Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue and Blueberry Bushel inks. I then used my Large Letter framelits and die cut out the word, 'Hello'. The length of the blue card stocks is the usual 5 1/2". I cut the base layer of Lemon Lime Twist smaller at 5" to give the card just a little bit more character.  I stamped the rose image in Lemon Lime ink on top of the Lemon Lime card stock. The little 'friend' tag was created by using my Stampin' Write Blueberry Blue marker and the stamp from Crafting Forever. It's popped up on dimensionals and finished off with a Whisper White Baker's Twine bow.

The inside of the card, I created that lovely little patch of flowers again along with the saying from the stamp set. I LOVE this color combination!

For my next two fun projects I stamped two pieces of Whisper White Card stock that were each 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" like so. For one of them (the bottom one pictured), I scored it at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 3 3/4" and 5". Then 1" going the other way. Using my Paper Snips, I snipped little triangles off each 'tab' as shown.  I then creased and adhered all the tabs together to create this little guy -

It's a mini milk jug! At least that's what I think it looks like.

Filled with little treats, I then punched two holes at the top and tied our wonderful 1/8" Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain Ribbon to keep him closed. I stamped a cut little tag and attached with a glue dot.

With the other stamped piece of card stock, I trimmed it down to 5" instead of 5 1/2" and created a fun little Hershey Kiss holder! I scored this piece at the opposite direction (with the 4 1/4" side up at the top instead of the 5 1/2") at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", and 3 3/4". Using the Everyday Label Punch I punched a little 'window' at the top so you can peek in to see what's inside. I added a 2" x 3 1/4" piece of Window sheet scored at 1" to the inside. Crease and adhere closed with the 1/2" tab. I wrapped more of our 1/8" Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain Ribbon around and tied in a bow. Then I attached a 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Blueberry Bushel card stock the bottom and slid in the kisses. Super easy and cute!

Doesn't this make for a fun little gift set for a dear friend? I love the colors and coordination of all three projects! Thanks again for welcoming me back into the mix. I've missed creating with this fabulous group! Now hop on to see what creativity Sara has created this month. It's sure to be wonderful! Happy Stamping my friends!
