Creation Station Blog Hop - Happy New to You!

Happy New Year my stamping friends! Here's to a fresh start, new opportunities, and adventures yet to be had! Our theme this month couldn't be more appropriate. I LOVE new stamps. I fully admit it, I am a stampaholic. Inking up a stamp for the first time is admittedly thrilling! Today I decided to ink up two new sets. I'm living on the edge, I know. Ha!

Incredible Like You is a great new stamp set. The words, the simple two-step stamping images, it's a keeper! I decided on Basic Black, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, and Melon Mambo for the color combination. The darkness of the black really makes all the other colors 'pop'. I added texture to the Melon Mambo card stock using the Tufted embossing folder and the words were stamped on a Stitched Circle Framelit. I stamped the flower with Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo ink and several of the leaves with Granny Apple Green ink, one with full ink and one at half strength. Then I meticulously cut them all out and snipped them apart. I finished with a sprinkling of rhinestones and Voila!

Another great set is Amazing Life. The words, the fun images, this one is so versatile! I started off by stamping the four leaf clover in Call Me Clover ink on a piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock. It truly does look like a piece of Designer Series Paper in real life. I stamped the words on a piece of Whisper White card stock and then put that behind a piece of Call Me Clover card stock that I die cut an oval on. Using dimensionals between these two layers help create depth. Did you check out the 'HAPPY'? I stamped that word on a piece of Gold Glimmer paper, which was a little tricky with the texture, and then carefully cut out each letter just inside the lines. A little extra work for a great affect, LOVE it!

I am going to enjoy playing with these new sets this year. I hope you will enjoy seeing the creations made with them! Make sure you check out what the talented Sara has whipped up for you to enjoy with all her new toys. You know it'll be magnificent! Thanks for stopping by!
