Creation Station Blog Hop - Monu"MEN"tal

With nine family birthdays in the month of April (crazy, I know!?!), celebrating men, whether the big or little kind, was happening all month long! This month's theme of  "MonuMENtal" fit right into my life! Today I thought I would share two of the cards for the little men we celebrated.

This happy go lucky little pig from the This Little Piggy set wanted to celebrate with his new striped shirt and big red balloon. I hand drew the stripes on the pig with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and then colored in two of the stripes with my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker. I sponged Powder Pink ink on the pig and then cut him out. Whisper White Baker's Twine is perfect for the string of the balloon and using a few small dots of liquid glue, it stays in place. I used the Stitched Ovals and Stitched Rectangle Framelits to help create the bold and whimsical scene. The words are from the Treehouse Adventure set and fit perfectly on the white frame. I thought it would be fun to mimic his striped shirt on the base of the card. You can't help but smile at this little guy!

Another little man we celebrated this month is all about the outdoors. So I knew that the Treehouse Adventure stamp set would be perfect for him! Since blue is his favorite color (go figure), this treehouse got inked up with Blueberry Bushel ink and a Grapefuit Grove door was added for a fun contrast along with Smoky Slate shutters. The leaves of the tree are inked with Call Me Clover ink, some are stamped off once and others at full strength. I used the Stitched Rectangle and Stitched Circle Framelits this time to help frame things.

I have to admit, with such a busy birthday schedule in April (not to mention adding in Easter as well!), I was looking forward to May! Thanks for stopping by and hope you continue on to see what creativity Tanya has to share with you.
