Creation Station Blog Hop - Unique Folds

May ended wonderfully as I had a handful of family members here visiting from Wisconsin for almost a week. I enjoyed all the adventures we went on each day to different cities, and states for that matter. Oh, how those days went so quickly! Now June is upon us and Jack has eight more days of school left, swim lessons start next week, the new catalog goes live soon, and I have a big "to do" to accomplish as usual. *wink wink*

This month's blog hop highlights unique folds, which I love to try out! Something so simple as a different type of fold can breath new life into a stamp set that you may have had for a while.

I like the way that this card stands up, almost like an easel. I started with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock and scored it at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". The Abstract Impressions stamp set was used to create the field of flowers. I used Soft Seafoam and Granny Apple Green (stamped off once and also at full strength) along with Flirty Flamingo in three different variations (stamped off twice, stamped off once and at full strength). The words are from the Enjoy Life set and stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The stitched oval is popped up on dimensionals that are only on the lower part of it, so the card stock can tuck in behind it with ease. To give a little interest, I inked up the Buffalo Check background stamp with Granny Apple Green ink and stamped it on a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock and adhered it onto the Granny Apple Green card base.

When the card is "opened" it reveals a little pocket to hold a gift card. It's nice to send a little something when someone goes above and beyond for you. The butterflies are from Butterfly Gala and add a bit of color without being too overwhelming.

The main focal point actually is a little card itself (3 1/2" x 9", scored at 4 1/2") that when opened reveals an area to write a message to the recipient. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this fun and easy unique fold. I'm excited to see what the rest of the design team did this month! Up next is the super talented Dani. Happy Stamping!

  1. Wow! I absolutely love your card and this fold, Jennifer. I can see me using this without the gift pocket for a family member who recently went into a long-term care facility. She could display it on her bedside table.

  3. Oops - made a typo! I love your card! And love the fold idea - I like the amount of space for writing, plus the little pocket is so cute!
