Creation Station Blog Hop - Stampers Gone Wild!
And just like that, August is here. The days of summer are starting to be counted down. You always knew as a kid, that when August arrived, the start of a new school year wasn't far behind. *sighs* Guess I have to kick it high gear to get some more things checked off our "Summer Fun" list. This month's blog hop is all about showcasing our animal and wild life stamp sets. Fun, right?! I had a hard time narrowing it down, but finally settled on the cute little guys in the We'll Walrus Be Friends set.
I think this guy peeking his head up from the water, is my favorite image in the set. He's just so gosh darn cute! I figured I would whip up a fun little box to hold a sweet treat inside. The box is a 4 1/2" x 8 1/4" piece of Basic Gray card stock that I scored at 3/4"and 3 3/4" on the short side, and 3/4", 3 3/4", 4 1/2" and 7 1/2" on the long side. This is the perfect size to hold a Moon Pie inside. Yum!
I created a belly band to wrap around the box, so all you have to do is slide it off to get to the treat inside. That way way you don't have to destroy the tag on top or the box to get it. I used the bubbles from the Beauty Abounds set and inked them all over the Basic Gray card stock before I assembled the box.
I decided to ink up this guy next and liked the idea of having him on an iceburg. I inked him up first and colored him with my Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends then cut him out. Next I inked up the iceburg part of the stamp (omitting the walrus that is part of that stamp) and stamped it on a piece of Whisper White card stock. From there I used my Stampin' Blends to create the water and sky. I then added him to the iceburg using dimensionals. The little fish in that set reminds me of those from from Dr. Seuss. I inked up, colored and cut out three of them and adhered them in the water. Wonder how I got the Pumpkin Pie Baker's Twine bow? Using regular white baker's twine, I colored it using my Stampin' Blends! Woo hoo!
Of course, I had to add some cuteness to the inside of the card as well. This stamp set just makes me so happy creating with it! I have a feeling these guys will be seeing lots of ink.
Are you excited to see what all the other designers created with the animals of their choice? Me too! I hope you continue to hop along to see what the super talented Julie created. Happy Stamping my friends!
