Hello December! Yesterday I officially mowed the lawn for the last time of the season. Hallelujah! Don't get me wrong, I don't mind mowing, but it takes me about 4 hours to get it all done. Whew! Every five days or so and all those hours add up over the months! We went about putting all the outside Christmas lights and decorations up as well. Now onto the inside of the house....bring on Christmas! Since this is my favorite holiday of the year, I thought this month's "Put a Ring on It" blog hop called for something festive. What does it mean to "Put a Ring on It"? We are going to dress up, glam out, and make our projects shine by creating belly bands to wrap around them! Exciting, right!?!
I used a few different stamp sets to gussy up this Christmas card. Floral Essence and coordinating Leaf and Perennial Flower punches helped to create these poinsettia inspired flowers. Tiny Keepsakes gave me the Real Red stripes and snowflakes. Finally, the Greatest Part of Christmas host set added just the perfect words!
As you can see, the flowers are attached to a Crumb Cake belly band that can easily slide off the card. A little trick for you so this can still fit in a regular envelope, The flowers and leaves on the belly band is 4 1/4" wide. In order to do that, my actual card was cut down to 3 3/4" wide x the usual 5 1/2" tall. I love the effect of the flowers and leaves flowing off the side of the card.
This card just gets me in the mood for the holiday! Back to decorating the house I go, but I hope you continue to hop along to see what the incredibly sweet Sara has to share with you. Happy Holidays my friends!
