Hopping Around the World - Easter

Happy Leap Day stamping friends! How are you taking advantage of this extra day? I'm doing laundry, some cleaning and stamping. And I may be binge listening to some shows I've missed over the last few weeks. *smiles* Today's blog hop is highlighting the Easter holiday. We celebrate it by inviting our local family over the day before for brunch and an Easter egg hunt. Last year we filled and hid 250 250 filled eggs! It's a job, but Jack and his cousins love it!

I decided to die cut a cross from the Cross of Hope Framelits and laid it on a piece of Whisper White card stock. I then inked the cluster of bold flowers from the Beautiful Bouquet set and stamped around and over it with Daffodil Delight. I repeated again with Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade inks layering them on top of one another. I then took the cross off and this was the result. Just lovely! I then sponged Granny Apple and Garden Green for the grass to help 'anchor' the cross and backed it with a piece of Basic Black card stock stock. I used a die from the Sale-A-Bration set, Lily Pad Dies to give the Whisper White card base a little dimension. The saying is from the Rustic Retreat set and I used the Everyday Label punch to punch it out. I wanted my card to be a simple reminder of this wonderful holiday! I hope you will continue to hop along to see what Easter inspiration Mo Rootes has for you from across the pond. Happy Stamping!

Creation Station Blog Hop - The Full Monty

Welcome to February my stamping friends! It's been a while since I've created and shared with you. The holidays, travel half way across the country for a bit, and a death in the family all contributed to my absence. Thank you for your patience and understanding during that time. I was anxious to get back into my room and jump start my creativity. What better therapy is there than stamping?  This month's blog hop is all about "The Full Monty." What does that mean? Each designer had their choice of a product bundle, medley or suite and used each item in it! Pretty neat huh?

I chose the Heartfelt Bundle to highlight. It comes with a super cute stamp set and two, yep, I said two heart punches that layer beautifully with each other! First up, I decided to create a valentine card for the boy who calls me mom. Night of Navy blue is his favorite color so I jump started there and decided to add Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake to the mix. I stamped the arrows for a fun background (Wouldn't this be a great DSP pattern?!) For visual interest, I stamped the little heart with Night of Navy ink on Night of Navy card stock. I added a Crumb Cake stitched circle behind the two layering hearts to really make this focal point stand out. So while there are many hearts on this card, I think the color choices make it totally acceptable for any boy.

I've been seeing lots of rainbow inspired things around the marketplaces and took that as inspiration for this next card. I started by stamping the Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green arrows first, then worked my spacing out from there for the remaining four colors. I stamped each heart, and while there is no punch for this little lacy gem, it didn't take too long at all fussy cutting each one out. I staggered them across the middle of the card which helps to give it the feeling of 'movement'. I took a 1/2" wide piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped this fun little saying using Memento Black ink and snipped the ends into a tag. I popped this up on dimensionals.

I couldn't resist using red and pink for at least one project. On this card I chose Real Red and Flirty Flamingo. I stamped the large lacy heart that coordinates with the large scallop punch, but instead of using that punch I used the smaller straight edge punch in that bundle to give the stamped image a slightly different look. I took that same small lacy heart from the previous card, stamped and cut each one out and adhered to the center of each large heart. I added a punched Silver Foil scallop heart behind the one Real Red heart along with an arrow to make that one a little more special than the others. You may notice how the hearts are hanging over the edge on both sides. Don't worry! This card still fits into a regular envelope. The length of those hearts is 5 1/2" inches (standard card size). The length of the Real Red card stock base is only 5 inches. It fools the eye, and really helps to make the hearts stand out. I added a double White Baker's Twine bow to the front and voila! This card could be used as a valentine or a thank you.

I really enjoy the versatility of this bundle! I hope you were inspired by the three projects I shared with you today and will continue along this hop to see the wonderful creativity of Elizabeth. She's a stamping rock star! Happy Stamping!
